Khan gets criticized for chasing fights with Mayweather and Pacman, whilst Froch gets applauded for avoiding Degale and not chasing GGG and Ward.
To be fair, Froch is at the end of a career which has seen him face the best of the best in the division. He has earned the right, in my opinion, to pick a fight where he can make a load of money and go out on a high. Khans situation is totally different.
No hypocrisy. No one is 'praising' froch for supposedly 'avoiding' Degale, and how can he chase a fighter who isn't planning on even moving into his division. Khan gets criticised for chasing a mayweather fight because before Alexander he hadn't done ANYTHING to even remotely deserve it, yet walked around with a strong sense of entitlement. Froch has been criticised a lot in the past for the way he's acted. Not sure what your point is here terry, selective memory I feel.
dont see how being the champ means you can pick and choose who you defend against. Surely a mandatory is regarded as the 2nd best to the champ therefore pitting the best fighters against each other. Boxing has far too many politics and issues so the best fights cannot be made. Ufc deserves credit for making the best fight the best not allowing the best to choose who they fight
Khan is chasing those better than him, GGG isn't in the same division and Ward still hasn't got a fight arranged and he has fought very little in the last 3-4 years. Froch is the number one in his division and therefore unable to chase those better as the one man who is more talented doesn't fight. The fights Khan is going after are big money fights also so they make good business sense too but Froch going against Degale or Ward earns him very little and Froch has fought everyone and has fought everywhere so he of anyone in world boxing deserves a choice of who and where he fights next. Finally Froch is actually chasing a fight with a man more proven than Degale anyway and a man with a better record too.
Nobody is applauding froch, some are comparing it to Calzage years ago but froch gave groves two shots he can't keep going on. The way he's going on though is a bit much he's already pretty much retired I don't mind him not fighting degale but would like to see him push for ward or even someone now for the time slot e could have fought degale .
What a joke thread. Froch is an ATG, British P4P no.1, unified champion, top 10 P4P, coming off the biggest night in British boxing history. He is also 37 and ear retirement. He has the right to choose. Khan on the other hand is a perpetual embarrassment to this country, firstly with his constant batterings (Prescott, Peterson, Garcia, Diaz), and then secondly with his frankly unbelievable arrogance. This includes blaming others for his losses, constant excuse making, sense of entitlement and talking about himself in the third person, I could go on all day. He has no belt and has only fought a handful of times in the last few years, some of these were losses and bad knockouts, the Diaz fight was a disaster and a near knockout. He has one credible win at Welterweight against Alexander who was tailor made for him, Alexander was recently pulverised by the person Brook beat comfortably in Porter, ironically the person Khan is ducking at all costs. Another point is the fact Froch is trying to fight Chavez, not Mayweather who is the P4P no 1 and biggest payday in the game who himself only has a handful of fights left. At this point you can add the fact that Khan has wasted years of his career chasing a fight he doesn't he deserve to the list of national embarrassments.
Wouldn't exactly call Khan an embarrassment, who has he avoided? Froch has ducked Ward, Degale and Stevenson and was forced to box Groves for a second time. Khan has impressive wins over Collazo,Barrera, Alexander,Judah, Malinaggi,Diaz etc
Khan, to his credit, hasn't avoided anyone. OK, he never gave Limond his rematch but that probably saved Limond a hiding. But until Alexander he hadn't really done enough at the top level to earn a shot at Moneyweather. I actually think that the reason Floyd was considering Khan was because he thought he'd have an easy night's work. It's ironic that Khan's best work for ages against Alexander might well be the reason that Floyd doesn't fight him. Wouldn't that be sweet - that Floyd "ducks" Khan? On the other hand, Froch is almost done. He's had a long streak of tough fights and, with his resume, deserves a big final payday before riding off into the sunset. He's earned a gimme fight for his finale.
And khan just gets slated for everything the man can't **** crooked without somebody blowing a fuse in here
