Maybe. But in 1986 Tyson was with the D'amato team. And Tyson won his every fight with Rooney. Otherwise i think nobody says Tyson was unbeatable. Some Tyson fans say Iron Mike was unbeatable with the D'amato team but somehow some re****ed Tyson haters don't understand the difference. Tyson's losses is nothing to do with the Rooney era. Just saying Tyson's last fight with Rooney: Tyson-Spinks ko1.
Not at all.im not saying all older fighters are worse than all present fighters but I am saying it is plain to see Dempsey was very limited in his style,Tyson would ko him with ease,he is bigger stronger faster and light years ahead of Dempsey skill wise it's obvious who the winner would be
Who has ever called Dokes great? And could you imagine if great fighters today had to fight much more often because of lack of jobs and were in poor health because they couldnt eat properly, had to travel by car or train often on short notice and had to fight while injured much of the time? They'd have many more losses to. Fact is todays fighters, athletes in general, are coddled compared to past greats. This is something you fail to mention.
Wouldnt you agree that has more to do with better equiptment rather than a better athlete? Federer is great, no doubt. But do you not think guys like Bjorg, Connors and other wouldnt be able to compete today with the same equiptment todays players use?
So the old timers have excuses for losses but active fighters don't:think I suppose if champions or established contenders "fought" opponents with 3-3 records in title fights or 0-0-0 in title fights they could fight as often as the old timers too.
Im comparing athletes to athletes. Boxing is the ONLY sport in the world where fans would pick a champion from 100 years ago to beat a modern day champion. Its ridiculous!
Boxrec has incomplete records for many fighters of past era's. You show your ignorance by relying on that. And you didnt answer a single one of the questions i asked. Dont worry, any objective person know why you ducked them. :yep
Are you seriously trying to say fighters like Joe Gans and Benny Leonard couldnt be champions today? atsch
So it's unfair to bring up what the old timers actually did? Boxrec is inaccurate compared to what? If a fight was worth remembering or worth mentioning somebody would know about it.:nono
Boxrec does not have complete records for many fighters of early era's, this is a fact. Many fighters who were without top notch management fought in smokers to make money. Does this change the FACT these same greats fought more often against top comp? Does it change the fact they had to fight many times while sick, hungry or on days notice often having to travel by car or train? Does it change the fact they had to fight more often with injuries? You keep ducking this simple point.
