    I agree with this.

    Also, on top of the fact that fighters don't fight more than 1-2 times a year they still have to deal with promotional interests. I'm not sure how big a factor that was in Robinson's day but I can't imagine it being as influential as it is today.

    SRR = TBE. Period.

    Will someone of that level of talent and the ability to perform at such vastly different weights competitively appear? Quite probably. But - as pointed out previously - to do it with that many fights (sometimes only have a few weeks break between intense fights)...nah, no chance.

    you could take Duran, Camacho, Pacquiao, Leonard, Hagler, Triple G and a few others back to that era and they could thrive for a long time (if the first two didn't party). but i don't know about matching Robinson's activity & longevity. maybe Duran and Triple G. they LOVE to fight, above all else.

    I think he was a great talent, the best of a very competitive century, but I think that a talent like that or near it does surface every couple of generations. There are about a dozen writers as great or nearly as great as Shakespeare. Four or five painters, and half a dozen sculptors as good as Michelangelo. Two, or three musicians as good as Mozart. It just takes time, and if the medium remains popular then great virtuosos and prodigies emerge organically.

    Think of all the great boxers who are right up there with Robinson: Greb, Langford, Armstrong, Charles, Duran, Leonard, Walker, Pep, Moore, etc. Some of our more recent crop haven't been too shabby either: Whitaker, Pacquioa, Jones, Mayweather etc.

    There already is: Kell Brook. The only difference is Brook is not a PED cheat like Robinson and overhyped by Max Kellerman on HBO like Robinson was in his prime.

    :lol::rofl:patsch

    Maidana who lost EVERY SINGLE ROUND to Devon Alexander who lost in one sided fashion to Porter who got owned by Kell Brook (going against your confident prediction).

    Yeah right. YDKSAB :hi:

    Yet he beat A-level fighter according to you prior to the fight in Porter with ease.

    I think judging fighter levels is above your payscale.

    Don't flatter yourself, people picked porter not because of him being great but because of how unproven Brook was and still is.:hi:

    People with knowledge of boxing can identify the hype-job from the genuine article. Brook is the genuine article. Hence why you don't know this and picked Porter to beat him because YDKSAB. :hi:

    Will there ever be a fighter as good as or greater than SRR? Of course. As long as the medium stays roughly the same and the talent pool don't dry up.
