P4P which was the most skilled era? I think it may be the late 70's into the 80's, when you had fighters with elite skills: Roberto Duran Julio Cesar Chavez Salvador Sanchez Ray Leonard Thomas Hearns Pernell Whitaker Mike Tyson Marvin Hagler Wilfredo Benitez I'm not a boxing historian but I think that's a pretty solid list for an era. What other era(s) rival that?
Would the 90's be next? Finito Lopez Julio Cesar Chavez Oscar De La Hoya Pernell Whitaker Hector Camacho Roy Jones Jr Felix Trinidad Ike Quartey Fernando Vargas James Toney Lennox Lewis Bernard Hopkins

late 40s- early 80's was boxing at its best. 20s-30s boxing was great, but still somewhat in its infancy to a degree. Mid 80's to today, we definitely saw plenty of talent, but it is also around the time we started seeing more belts and a growing presence of social medias, which play into the hands of the hype machine.
Sad that in the 2000's boxing started to decline ..There are no more great trainers and even fewer great fighters
