Thanks a lot burt, that was such a special shot. dempseys footwork through that sequence was amazing even on the old film.
Throwing and stepping as Willard missed, lining him up for the perfect shot.
How willard's head stayed on ill never know.
That shot from Dempsey and the bob fitsimmons v Corbett body shot are 2 shots that come to mind which are so pretty to look at that they still leave me amazed even through the battered old film.

pab, if you who seem open to unbiased reporting of what you observe, regardless of the majority who despise Dempsey
mostly on ESB, is impressed with the fabulous left hook Dempsey
had to shoot way above his head to land on the 6ft6" iron chin of Willard flooring big Jesse for the first time in his life, try watching
the first round of the Firpo bout segment where Dempsey and the powerful Bull of The Pampas are entangled in a clinch. Dempsey somehow gets his vaunted left hand free from Firpo
and without any punching room leverage explodes 7-9 terrifically fast and powerful left-hook uppercuts on Firpo that seem to take Firpo off his feet...These tremendously fast and
lethal punches shot with no punching room would do justice to a top flyweight so damn fast they were thrown. Not for nothing was the Manassa Mauler the greatest ring attraction in boxing history. Watch it pab and let us know your take on this quick segment. cheers...
