Pac won the first, lost more rounds I had Pac winnig the 2nd fight because of knockdown so that means 6-6 (Pac still hasnt won more rounds in the fight) Third fight I had JMM 8-4 or 7-5 if you want to be nice. A CLEAR LOSS FOR PAC (Still hasnt won more rounds in a fight donty remeber my 4th fight card but KO nasty so need I have 2-2 but clear KO loss gives the edge to JMM in the series CLEARLY!! Also never had Pac winning more rounds in any fight. Thats my thoughts on series
I still stand by my post. Close fights that could have gone either way. The only clear winner was the 4th fight.
His point is clear. The Floyd/Marquez fanboys love to cry "robbery" because Pacquiao won 2/3 close fights, with the other being a draw. You can't have your cake and eat it too. A close fight that can go either way is not a robbery. These weren't Lewis-Holy, Pac-Bradley, Rios-Abril, etc. It's just nonsense that people spew and rewrite history.
Ok first of im not Mexican and niether do I hate Pacquiao so sit tight while i rip through what is wrong with everything you just said "In all 4 fights, Pac sent JMM to the canvas like 6 times total. JMM only floored Manny once but as we know that was one Pac couldn't recover from. " This is my favourite pacfan quote. It highlights that Marquez only won because of a lucky punch completely forgetting the right hook that knocked Pacquiao onto his ass in round 3 "1st FIGHT - Very close. Pacquai knocked JMM 3 times in 1st round and almost finished the fight early. JMM came back and won some of the later rounds but in the end, the draw was a fair call." Ill agree the first fight being a draw is fair considering the huge point deficit Marquez was faced with but he did more than win some rounds, he won the majority of the rounds in that fight. if not for Pacs quick start in round one ( where you could argue a DQ for hitting Marquez when down if you want to get very technical ) then it would be a different story "2nd fight - Very close again but Pacquiao probably deserved the win more" Personally it was close but Marquez imo edged it due to his cleaner more effective punching, why do you think Pacquiao deserved it more? because of the one knockdown? Marquez almost knocked Pac out in this fight too if you can remember the chicken dance he was doing but that dont win you a fight. by all means please elaborate "3rd fight. This is the most controversial but let's ****yze. HBO's punch stats had Pacqiuao landing 176 vs 138 for JMM. Out of these, power shots still favored Pac 117-100. Harold Lederman had it 116-112 for Pacquiao too, which is relatively comfortable. Harold lederman is know as a fair scorer and a good one. Mexian fanboys and Pac haters swear this was a robbery and JMM clearly won but it's really just BS.." As noted by someone before me Boxing is scored round by round, not to mention compubox is no more reliable than the amateur scoring system. as for Lederman? hes an employee of HBO just as Lampley and Kellerman are but theyve proved themselves overtime that they are pretty much imcompetent. "BAM BAM BAM" thrilling commentary. Marquez completely schooled Pacquiao in this fight, winning at the very least 8 rounds and without any knockdowns the fight couldnt be close enough to give Pacquiao the W. Marquez just outhustled him and the judges in turn hustled Marquez. "4th fight - No disputing who won here but let's not forget Pacquiao was winning the fight at the point he ran into that punch. They had knocked each out once already and Pac was making JMM bleed and he got careless as he tried to finish off JMM, it wasn't like JMM was dominating and finally put him to sleep" yes it was another close fight, Marquez wasnt dominating but he did have Pacquiao in serious trouble in round 3 when he knocked him down urging Pacquiao to gun for the knockout as he hadnt suffered a legit knock down for about 12 years if im remembering correctly. Marquez landed was gunning for the knockout himself, its not as if he suddenly was granted the gift of power by the boxing gods in that one instant. He trained hard as he believes the judges were going to rob him again and going by the judges (most noteably Adelaide Byrd who has been called an embarrassment to the NSAC by Joe Rogan) it was likely to happen again
My main point is fights 1 and 2? . . . I dont agree but you can argue them being somewhat close enough for Pacquiao to win with the knockdowns the 3rd/4th fights though? the 3rd was a clear robbery and the 4th was not a lucky punch? I like Pacquiao, have been a fan since he stopped Hatton in all honesty (cant say the same about bob arum but thats another story) but Marquez got robbed in fight 3 and would likely have been in the 4th also had it gone the distance.
They weren't really close enough to go either way, though. Not if you are scoring properly. All three were indeed close - but with a clear victor. The "could go either way" thing is just something people say to be polite. :yep (or, in cases where most of the rounds are true swing rounds) If Pacquiao earned a minority of shares on your card in all three, and there aren't "swing" rounds among those you gave Marquez - then you have three bad decisions. Even if all three were close and competitive.
Now that is a fair perspective. What is not fair is '****s claiming that JMM was robbed 3 times, or that JMM was punishing Pac from pillar to post on Pac-JMM 4. These people don't understand that what made JMM's KTFO6 win over Pac was that it was such a nail biter of a fight and both fighters are the verge of going down -- but they are going down swinging. Hard.
Marquez was on his way to clearly losing to Pac for the first time when he busted out that counter OHR. :nod
Yeah the 3rd fight was a CLEAR LOSS FOR PAC! Pac can tell you, once the bell ended just look at me, as sad as you can be. Notyhing we can tell a fighter in the ring, when you fight as many times as Pac has and thats his body language after the bell rings then that tells you he thought he lost also.
Pac's inability to win convincingly even once vs Marquez shows us that Marquez won the rivalry, by far. Marquez is easily 3-0-1, some might even argue 4-0.
I've seen many that say Pac has lost 3 of the 4 fights, some have it 2-1-1 Like i've said before I have it 2-2 but with 1 robbery in the 3rd fight and the 4th clear cut winner so JMM wins rivarly plain and simple. no need for 5th fight
I was more impressed with the R3 KD tbh. That was such a perfect setup. JMM was punishing Pac with body shots then just when Pac thought that another body shot was coming, JMM slowly raised the angle of that right then BAM! I thought Pac was gonna be taken out. Props to him for making out of that round (although JMM did admit he wasn't going all out either because he knows Pac is most dangerous when hurt). It was as surreal for me as KTFO6.
Marquez won the 3rd fight, judges robbed that man of a clear victory. Fights 1 and 2 however are close enough to argue either way. Marquez in my opinion has 2 clear wins over Pac while Manny has a draw and a disputed victory in the second fight.
