Nice try but it was on a Golden Boy card with a Golden Boy business partner fighting in the main event with Golden Boy judges and a Golden Boy ref.

You don;t really think Hopkins won that fight- I'm convinced of that - you are just butthurt that the guy you didn't want to win did. Stop trolling.

Not shot, but certainly not at his best in spite of continuing to have a successful career after Calzaghe.

Not shot for slappy, but certainly shot for Kovalev.

If you think Hopkins beat Joe, then you're an idiot and your parents failed you.

However I really don't think even Hopkins believes that. Trolls on here just claim that.

He wasnt shot. Do you think he was near his best though? And no he didnt win, but it was a close fight. Do you disagree?

There's a difference between shot and post prime. Calzaghe would have gotten beat down by the 32 year old Hopkins who tooled Glen Johnson. But 43 year old Hopkins is a different matter.

    Shot? No. Past Prime. Yes.

Calzaghe won a very close decision imo, based on his stamina and work rate.

In my opinion the last time we saw prime Hopkins was against Joppy. So Hopkins was 4-5 years past prime, but he wasn't shot.

He had clearly lost some speed and power and his stamina was clearly not the same. He threw 819 punches against Joppy and against the likes of Tarver, Wright, Pavlik and Calzaghe he was only throwing between 400-600 punches so at his best his punch output was down 25%.

But Hopkins wasn't shot. He still had good legs and balance, he could still pull the trigger. Shot fighters no longer have the same reflexes, they can't throw even when they can see the opening, they are less coordinated and their balance isn't the same. Watch Whitaker in his later fights, or Terry Norris in his later fights.

This the same sh.. that happens with every good American fighter. After they loose there comes the excuses.

When Ward looses his first fight they will say his layoff cause the defeat and ruined him and that Ward was much better years before. And when GGG looses first time, he is considered nothing special to begin with.

Don't pretend it's just an American thing, excuses come with losses no mater the nationality.

    Wlad was drugged.

Haye had a bad pinky toe.

    Pac had cramps.

Vitali was stopped prematurely by the doctor or had a shoulder injury.

no nowhere near shot, past his pyhsical prime but he was able to compensate for years and maintain that level, the last 2-3 years he has been declining heavily though
