Anyone agree that before Fighting on the World stage any fighter from the Southern Hemisphere before he gets his shot should be forced to fight the European champion first to confirm he's up to standard ?

The old system where fighters usually progressed through state, national and then commonwealth titles prior to getting world title shots worked well for a long time.

This WAS exactly the case , EVERYTIME we used to see a fighter from the S/Hem in the other corner you could bet your *******s he as the BEST they had to offer and he got to be in the opposite corner the hard way & he was a capable fella these days with the odd exception its a case of who the hell is this bloke ?

There's no two ways about it Josey, the last 15 odd years or so the platform down here is a joke. Going through the old empire title route was a good one

I've seen blokes fight for state or even (pretty sure)national titles on debut in this country.... what a joke.

The Historic & once massive Australian National titles are seldom mentioned on these boards mate is this because if anyone who's any good goes straight up to Pan Asia or whatever it's called level ? It's like your football team always qualifying for major tournaments it's not down to ability their qualification is based on geography .

There are too many alternative pathways that involve easier fights.

Is this down to grabbing promoters who don't give a s hite or average fighters content and happy to get the one payday and the chance to say " I fought for the championship of the world " like Alex Leapia etc ?

There are two many belts and too many paths toward alphabet title shots.

The more water you pour into cordial the weaker it gets.

Yea I've suspected this for a long time it seems the likes of Soliman , Geale , Fletcher are squeezing that lemon for all it's worth they lose a title shot fight one meaningless fight back home ( in Geale & Fletchers case ) then they regain a top five ranking due to the said ****ty pan Pacific having world ranking status , Bloody crazy **** when you consider a kid like Billy Joe Saunders handed Jarrod his **** in a few rounds but has yet to fight at World title level .

Number of years ago, I done a deal with WBA & started Kangaroo Island Organization, unfortunately it wasn't successful & was subsequently ditched by WBA 'cos I didn't have coin to renew my annual membership.

I'm now in process establishing Indian Pacific & negotiating with WBC & IBF

Come on mate a bloke of your standing can contribute more than this to the thread . Any chance of you trying to explain to a confused foreigner like myself the structure of these S/Hemisohere , Asian titles and just how hard is it to get a title shot ?

Hey Josey, it's starting to happen with soccer in this country as well with us winning the Asian cup. every tom, dck and Harry who knows fxck all about soccer thinks we are the ducks guts now... Little do they know that apart from Japan none of the Asian countries are even in top 50 world standings.

The public and media think we have improved leaps n bounds after extra time winning final against South Korea :patsch .... Little do they realise that 4yrs earlier we were runner up in the Asain cup losing 1-0 to japan who are a much better team.... So basically the side as a whole was at the same level but you wouldn't know it going on the hysteria

Boxing is the same, we beat up Asians and get some Nuff Nuff with a record of 20-0 and then he gets battered in a world title shot.
