HBO continues to insist they are ready to go. some find it surprising that HBO is speaking up.

Arum, HBO and Pacquiao are putting pressure on Mayweather and showtime. It really does look like Showtime and Mayweather are the ones dragging it out.

It's going to ruin Mayweather's career if this doesn't happen. First thing people will talk about is him not wanting to fight Pac, from boxing fans to casuals.

I don't think the Cotto fight works, he will want 10+ million. You factor in the backlash and Canelo on regular HBO, it will be a money loser for Showtime.

Once again your ignorance shows through. If you think it doesn't take stamina to play football you're crazy. You exert yourself to the max on each play. Sissies??? LMFAO! Go up to a NFL player and call him a sissy he will bury your ass in the ground. You wouldn't last once second on an NFL field let alone a high school one. You're level of ignorance is shocking.

You need great stamina to play soccer I agree. But to say Football isn't physically demanding and damaging is crazy. Some of the best athletes in the world play Football. There's a reason why they wear pads and helmets because if they didn't someone would die on the field.:deal They wear all of this padding yet most will suffer from CTE after their careers are over.

Wasting your time, it's common sense. you are even understating things in a brief post. Unless they follow, they don't get it.

Can we talk about the historical significance of this fight now that it seems to be a go? We have pound for pound fighters that are likely the the most famous in the game today about to agree to terms.

Yes this fight is 5 years to late, but what will it mean for their legacies?

I think Pacquaio has more to gain if he wins. But if Mayweather dominates, I think his legacy will go up too.

This thread will likely get moved to general, but I'll give it a go while its here. To the casual boxing fan it means a lot. These two names have been thrown around in the media forever now and it might well be one of the very few fights that could attract the attention of the general public. To more diligent boxing fans, it really means fu<k all. This match should have happened anywhere between 2009-2012 and while both of them are still outstanding fighters at their advanced ages, neither is at their best anymore. The fight probably means more to Pac but floyd also has more to lose, particularly that precious "0". Meeting Pac in the ring may finally silence the naysayers about Floyd cherry picking, but there will always be some who say that it came too late.
