I was skeptical - did a "Preview Post" and they showed up as URLs still, not embeds, and thought 'wtf is he talking about??" and then clicked Submit Reply and...voila.

Er, never doubted ya for a sec, I mean! :D

    Its my secret:D

    Naw I'll tell you.

It has to do with http vs https, http is Hyper Text Transfer Protocol vs https is the same thing plus Secure it has to do with the encoding on the site. Youtube used to be http and when I used to help a friend upload videos to a site he used, he encountered this problem and I figured it out in a few seconds and dropped the s and it still worked. So when I started on this site I knew how to do the YT thing but the drop the s thing was far more easy and looks better so I stuck with that.

Knockout CP win over Buitrago should've been an upset of the year candidate.

Did you spot my thread on the Bornea twins?

I scanned the site's video section and didn't see either of their names (and only turned up the limited footage I posted for each for them, one bout each)

You don't know if there's any more floating around, do you?

I'd especially love to get my hands on Jake's loss to Ray Tabugon (seems the likeliest of his career to maybe have been televised locally) or better yet Jade vs. Akhmadaliev II or Jade vs. Tanaka, both from the ASBC Youth championships in '13.

I'm guessing Jade vs. Kosei would be the easiest to find, since there is so much buzz around Tanaka and probably high demand for any footage of him. Fine by me, because that is the one I most want to see.

I've not seen the thread though I can safely say I've exhausted my search for Bornea Vs Tanaka. Spent several hours going through Tanaka's amateur stuff and couldn't find that one particular bout which. Really disappointed by the lack of footage.

Ah, too bad. Do you happen to know if he was ever beaten more decisively in the amateurs? I can only find him losing by 1 point, never two or more.

If he really did perform the best against Tanaka in the amateurs, Jade might be the brother to keep an eye on and really a dark horse prospect in the pros. (I do like what I see even in the losing effort in the first match with Akhmadaliev - who, just by virtue of coming from the Uzbek amateur system and being selected for international competition from their ranks can safely be assumed to be very talented - and the fact that he RSC'ed him in the rematch...)

Also, I realize the points-tallying method of scoring they used in the amateurs is flawed and that Kosei might very well have actually had tougher fights even if the numbers didn't show it...but still, that result is eye-catching, unless Jade got a total gift.

Nah, he'd be fine. Given their styles he'd probably revert quickly to his "...and Channel-Chive is on the attack, and he Is LOOKING TO END BUDLER'S NIGHT AND HIS REIGN AND HEXECUTE THE HEXECUTIONER! HARD SHOTS FROM THE CHALLENGER. BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG! :ibutt *sploosh* :jjj :dead" approach to play calling.

Does need noting that that bout came in the Philippines so there is every chance that Jade got one of those "close but the other guy won" fight...or a complete robbery as we saw last year in South Korea

    :yep

I hope somebody on here saved the animated GIF from several yeras ago of his grinning mug photoshopped onto a person throwing a punch, with his then-girlfriend photoshopped in as the recipient, ending with a closeup of his smile and the caption BIG RIGHT HAND.

Domestic abuse isn't funny in the least but that GIF, just for its sheer absurdity, killed me every time I looked at it. Hopefully it's not lost to posterity. I worry that it was only ever posted in the Lounge, though, in which case it might be.
