Saw in another thread that Cotto is looking to unify,that would be some fight and big payday for Andy,lot of haggling between managers before any fight is agreed with anyone.

 

Spike O'Sullivan vs Tureano Johnson rumoured for Al Haymon card, Paddy's day New York on NBC tv, what do you reckon lads, could be a big opportunity for Spike?

 

Four fights by June is a big ask, serious intentions there.

 

Johnson is a good fighter. He was beating Stevens until he was (arguably?) stopped.

Paddys day in NY woud certainly draw the fans for Spike though!

 

Over at the scene,confirmed by di della that Andy v Quillin will go ahead after bjs got side money and will fight the winner,date to be confirmed,likely to be april 11th in New York.

 

Yeah its a massive chance for Spike to get himself known on a big network like NBC and im sure the NYC fans would offer him plenty of support on paddy's day. Plus Johnson is ranked No 8 by the WBC and No 12 by the WBA and IBF and holds two WBA/WBC trinkets, so it would be a great boost for Spike's ranking were he to win. Im favoring Johnson slightly, but Spike has a chance as he can punch.

I'm amazed ***** and BJS are allowing this to go ahead though....it's gonna put Joe Saunders in an almost impossible position if Quillin wins.....unless they've got it in writing that Quillin must travel over here to fight BJS :huh

Great opportunity for Spike. Comes from Mahon in Cork, boy! A genuine "irish" boxer. Be fantastic if he can do it. Spike strikes me as a genuinely tough guy who could surprise a few people if he can get past his lack of speed. He looked much speedier against Fitz, and Luke Keeker said on here Spike has been working on speed and flexibility big time. Luke better be careful or Spike will beat all the fight out of him in sparring, before he gets to prizefighter!!!
