Pacquiao arrived home in Manila yesterday. They asked him about Mayweather, "We will make the announcement of the fight within the upcoming few days."

He was all smiles talking about it. Hopefully, that is a good sign...

Can't wait for the fight to be announced so all the crying can stop and people can discuss the actual matchup. Still hoping all the doubters will man up when the time comes...

    PAC fans are sooo emotional.
This fight would have happened in 2009 when it meant the most if PAC didn't drop the ball (admitted by his entire team)
    FACT!!!
Mayweather is trying to make this fight... And PAC fans are in panic mode... Once this fight is made you guys don't have a purpose anymore.
You know Floyd is going to win and you have (pathetically) spent the last 5 years obsessing over Mayweather.
    P*ss off losers. Hahaha:hi:

Don't hold your breathe. If the fight is announced, that is when the haters will start the, "this fight no longer matters" threads. They gotta have the excuses ready for when their favorite boxer loses.

Yup. I can hear them now,

Excuses for Pac, if he loses
    - He's too old
    - Floyd ducked him in his prime
    - He isn't the same anymore

Excuses for Floyd, if he loses
    - He's too old
    - He isn't prime

When in fact, both have slipped, but it seems they've slipped the same amount. If anything, this fight today will be more brutal than it would have been 5 years ago. Now, due to heavier legs, we may see a better, more competitive fight :happy

As a fighter, De La Hoya said he faced just about every possible name in his era - Quartey, Whitaker, Trinidad, Hopkins, Sturm, JCC Sr., Vargas, Mosley, Mayorga, Mayweather, Pacquiao and many others.

He doesnt believe Floyd wants the fight but just looking for a few easier fights to get his record to 50-0 (or above) and then retires.

"I can not understand why this [fight] has not been done. I can not understand why, because in my day, during Chavez's time, we saw the best fight with the best. I have that pride. I wanted to fight with the best, win or lose, but it was against the best. I can not understand these things,"

"Mayweather will not fight [him], because he thinks that if leaves the sport undefeated [he will be considered the best ever], but he won't be - because people will respect you more when you face the toughest, the strongest, the most dangerous. It doesn't matter who, all of the biggest names lost - Sugar Ray Robinson, [Muhammad] Ali, Pacquiao. What matters is the legacy we're leaving behind."
