Someone extremely close on Pacquiao's side has said the fight is 95% done and the other 5% is basically just announcing it. They have begun looking for sparring partners. Lydell Rhodes was suggested to Justin Fortune to bring back. He prepared Pacquiao for Timothy Bradley, and they thought he did a great job and a style similar to Floyd's. Though, he doesn't have great defense, so it was a suggestion.

The person who told me said it off-record so don't bother searching for it.

and arum and co. knew that when they started spouting off at the mouth about how serious they were.....when they started that there was still a long ways to go in regards to actually sitting down and putting it together....its not that easy to broker this deal......and they started saying how serious they were wayyy too late ....had they done this right after algieri then things could have been hammered out...it was a stall tactic all the way....

bradley would be a good sparring partner for pacquiao. He's a defensive, reatively quick opponent. As far as sparring partner for Mayweather, can't think of anyone. Robert Garcia has faced Pacquiao twice (margarito,rios) and mayweather twice (maidanaa * 2) and he claims it's MUCH more difficult to prepare for Pacquiao than it is to prepare for Mayweather. Pacquiao destroyed his fighters whilst Maidana held his own vs Mayweather. With Pacquiao it's about weathering a storm, a storm like none seen before. With Mayweather, it's like trying to solve a puzzle or riddle.

 

You don't need three months to get ready to fight. People in bars all over America take fights on less than a minutes notice every day.
