Eusebio Pedroza v Erik Morales

I would like to say Morales...because I'm an apologist...
But the all round game of Pedroza, primarily his movement, would be difficult for Morales to get going against. IMO.
I would take Pedroza by decision.

 

It would be a boring uninspired draw based on the fights you picked.

 

Pedroza wins a good fight over Morales by UD.He could have taken most of the featherweights that came after him, including Manny Pacquiao.

 

I think so also. I love the laPorte fight where lap nails him with a right in the 3rd and wakes Pedroza up. Eusebio IMMEDIATELY starts going to Juan's body for the next half of the 3rd and all of the 4th and just takes the heart out of LaPorte. I did not see that as a dirty fight, I saw it as a pro against a prima-donna. LaPorte from that fight on would wear a protector that went up to his armpits. Cheating in my mind. Pedroza was a pro's pro and one of my favorites in the early to mid-80s. I also love the Ford fight and the Carresquillo fight. Give me the body punchers/roughhousers Pedroza and Pintor over the guys that complain about fouls any day. I also believe 15 is a long way and bodypunching Pedroza stops Morales late. Assuming guys from the 12 rd years go 15 is bad I think and a 15 rd gameplan is completely different that a 12 rd one. I think fighters such as Mayweather would find that out.

 

I think Morales outworks him in a brutal fight and wins a decision..

Morales never went 15, but he had the heart, endurance, and fighting spirit, to do so, he had a lust for combat few have..

I watched Pedroza, fight Laporte in a tough fight, like over 30 years ago, and he was just plain nasty, and dirty, if he tried that BS, with Morales, Erik would be slamming left hooks to Pedrozas B@lls to even the score, he was the type of guy that wouldn't put up with BS..

 

Pedroza! Unanimous 15-round decision.

 

Pedroza would have beaten the **** outta Morales.

 

Pedroza is almost criminally underrated.

The more I think about it, the more I like him over Sal Sanchez.

And he wins this fight by a typical Pedroza-style, some-are-going-to-argue-about-it decision in a really ugly fight that he controls.

 

struggling to make a pick, there is a reason most are picking pedroza, but i also agree with the last 3 lines of silver skull's post.

draws over 15 are less likely, with 15 being an odd number, but i'ma pick the draw and take a fencepole up the ****.

 

Actually Kingfish, draws were more common in the 80's than any other decade, I guess judges thought it was easier to pick a no winner, than to make an unpopular choice, and face a mountain of criticism..

If anyone is under-rated here it's Morales, folks forget that he beat a prime Paq, who is this generations best fighter behind of course Mayweather..:deal

 

Pedroza would have refused to relinquish that featherweight title to Morales. EP by a 15 round decision.....using every trick in the book along the way, if you know what I mean.

 

Morales too easy to hit and not as proficient at every range as Pedroza was.

Eusebio just too smooth for him.Tough fight though, as Morales good offensive ability on the outside, durability and willpower would keep him going through any rougher patches, and see him get his own licks in.

Pedroza would turn and outjab him consistently though, and dominate on the inside where Morales never impressed me much.

 

Pedroza would've been too smooth and sharp all round for any of the modern trio imo.
