read the thread you tit. he changed the subject. i've stated throughout ward has been unavailable, i stated he priced himself out of tuneups in response to your claim that brits overstate their value. you can't even follow plain english you fucl<wit, the cretin who claimed monaco was built to be the vegas of asia doesn't get to call anyone an idiot.
there you go, fucl<wit, no mention of the rematch, just a response to your claim euros overvalue their worth. and to further clarify...
I think Ward would beat him fairly comforfably anywhere. Seeing as it is Kessler's final fight should it happen I'd like to see Ward go overseas. Doesnt matter though if he does or not, his detractors will not give him credit.
Yeah I"d like for him to travel as well and why not out of respect to Kessler ..I hope it gets done in Denmark
You are a complete idiot!!! Oakland would generate so much more money, moron!!!! :hi::hi: Ward is #2 p4p, was Mikkel p4p when they first met? NO!!!! :hi::hi::hey
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... a handful of morons cared about coward called Andre Ward :deal
of course ward will get credit, the farcical situation is his fans piling it on without him doing anything to deserve it.
No, son, I think we've already established who the idiot is here, using the idiot's own words. No, it wouldn't. Oakland isn't a boxing city and has NEVER produced a big money fight. He was the champion and the higher ranked fighter. Which was your original point. The main knock against Ward is that he couldn't sell tickets in his own living room, even at a family reunion ! The fight would make more money in Denmark. Kessler Froch 1 was held in Denmark and the rematch was (rightly) held in England, Kessler had no need to go to the US first time around, but he did. Ward (whose other knock is that he never leaves home) needs to go to Denmark this time. And you need to get a clue !
Im not exactly sure what you mean by "piling on". Are you saying he is no longer desrving of being called one of the very best in the sport? If so I have to disagree. His record and skills are proven. Until he shows a steep decline in skills I think its hard to argue otherwise. Maybe that happens because of the lay off, I dont know. As of now he is still one of the best p4p fighters in the world. Or maybe you're saying that like any other rabid fanbase theyre just not willing to conced an inch are insistent their guy is the best and will make excuses for a loss or bad showing. Just not sure what you're saying.
Just out of curiosity, would anyone object to this fight being in England? Neither re from their but both are know for their high profile fights with Froch.
you have to question it. he was really good, in my opinion a tad overrated, but in 3+ years he's had 2 fights, neither against a top-end smw. shoulder surgery is fair enough, but since then he's signed a contract he doesn't like and prices himself out of tuneups. it's a self-imposed exile which should raise suspicions. add to that his refusal of additional testing to the highly questionable californian athletic commission (pac gets crucified just for requesting cutoffs), his refusal to travel for money fights and complaining about "biased" refs and judges after fellow californian reiss allowed him carte blanche against kessler. yet his fanbase claim fighters x, y and z are avoiding him while pronouncing any fight ez $ up to and including kovalev! he doesn't even have a fight in the pipeline!
I'm completely neutral regarding this fight and in all honesty it doesn't matter where the fight takes place the outcome would be the same with ward pulling out a UD win. I cringe every time I hear the complaints about ward not traveling as if it would have any significant impact on the results, fighting on the moon wouldn't increase kess, froch etc etc abilities nor would it decrease wards so it's irrelevant yet folks still dwell in the bull sheet and ignore the truth he's just better than the rest....mind you, you won't find any threads with me praising ward however I recognize his superiority and some of you need to grow up and do the same.
The more I think about it the more I like it. As an unabashed Kessler supporter, this is win-win for him. If he beats Ward (and he does have a reasonable chance despite the daunting combination of a. his own layoff, b. his abilities having slipped and being further removed from his prime than Ward, and c. the h2h outcome last time - since Ward x. has been out for a considerable time himself, y. probably isn't all that hungry at this point, whereas Kessler has made clear through his words and his actions that he doesn't care about the money and is only considering a comeback for the glory of putting a meaningful flourish on his legacy, and z. the Montoya factor. Jimmy is a much better coach than Virgil Hunter and he actually improved Kessler a great deal on a technical & strategic level despite his slipping physical abilities, whereas Hunter adds nothing of value to naturally talented Ward's game and is kind of just a lucky barnacle along for the ride. I think Montoya is far likelier to come up with an intelligent and executable rematch game plan for his man than Hunter...) it does amazing things for his standing historically, and makes it hard to argue with him as the #2 SMW of all time so far. If he loses - so what? Doesn't affect his standing whatsoever...and he won't have to spend his entire retirement torturing himself with the "what ifs".
