    Quite right.

We all know that Roy's resume could have been stronger, but that applies to pretty much any other fighter.

But his resume gets overlooked, simply because he made it look so easy for the most part.

He beat good fighters with ease, barely losing rounds in his prime.

Just the one SMALL problem. When journeymen hit Calzaghe's chin, he got up and won. When journeymen hit Roid Jones' chin he went to fvcking sleep.

    Just objective facts.

Subjective opinions are NOT required, thank you.

I'm assuming he means Glen Johnson. Del Valle wasn't a journeymen so he doesn't figure into the conversation.

I am assuming he also meant multiple journeymen, and Del Valle didn't put Roy to sleep, so no he doesn't fit into the conversation. As a matter of fact Roy got up and whipped Del Valle's ass, but gets no credit... While Calzaghe gets praised for getting up and winning a fight. I wonder why?

I would have loved to see Calzaghe-Johnson at LHW, I think it would have been a challenge for Calzaghe, lots of action packed exchanges... I have heard hitting G. Johnson was like punching a tree, I wonder how Calzaghe's hands would have held up?

The only other fighter to put Jones to sleep was a hard hitting CW Lebedev.. Had Calzaghe fought hard hitting CWs into his 40's I would imagine we would have seen him stopped eventually.

    which journeymen are your facts?

I don't count more than glen Johnson (at a push, since he was an exceptional journeyman), who counts as one man, not "men".

your facts are lies, it seems. why do you think that lies are facts?

    :lol::lol::lol:

You're supposed to be the fan boy. You work it out. Whilst your at it, show us a clip of Calzaghe spark out on his face, having to be rolled over onto his back, or clean under the ropes, and falling into the corner after the ref had counted him out.

But getting KO'd by 2 guys older than you back to back takes some doing, when your the self appointed best out there.:rofl:rofl

It didn't mean anything, but it was Roy's last good performance, where he threw combinations and looked sharp.

I am just curious as to who you consider to be journeymen, and what do you consider "being put to sleep?"

Age didn't have much to do with it, Tarver was much fresher. And he simply got back into the ring too fast, with a hungry Glen Johnson. Roy was half of himself in the ring with Johnson and I have read he was also severely dehydrated. It was clear, Roy was no longer the best after being knocked out by Tarver.

There was a time though, when Roy was the best fighter in the world.

I will note that Joe Calzaghe had no intrest in Tarver or Johnson at LHW.. Both would have been better for his legacy than shot Roy.

Roy had plenty of time to adjust. He fought Ruiz on March 1st 2003. It wasn't a grueling fight it was a sparring session. He had 8 months off before Tarver I a fight he won. Then, had over 4 months off before Tarver II where his Glass Jaw was shattered all over Mandalay Bay Resort. Then another 4 months before the Johnson debacle where he tried to cherrypick a belt so he could call himself a 'champion' again. So we are looking at a total of 16 months from the Ruiz fight to the Johnson fight. That is plenty of time to adjust. The 8 months he had between Ruiz and Tarver I was plenty of time. His Chin was exposed as being made out of essentially wet toilet paper. That has been his biggest problem not 'weight drain' or 'losing muscle'.
