That isn't the case at all, when Floyd calls himself the best ever you then have to compare yourself to the greats of the past and see how you would do.

roy was a great athlete but NOT a great boxer or fighter. his flaws were glaring from day one but he was immensely talented as flashy powerful unorthodox showman.

yes, he was great in the ring from 154 to 168 but outside of those divisions (where he was the mostly bigger faster man) he was not what he was made out to be.

he went up to HW and beat Ruiz by dec. granted ruiz got more out of his limited abilty than anyone on his skill and talentless level. he was way underskilled and won the majority of his fights of heart, determination and toughness alone. his ONLY shot vs jones was to catch him and ko him.

that was never going to happen, jones was a CW going against a wicked slow under skilled HW.

tarver carved jones up over 3 fights and the rest is history. jones did eventually put on performances against the retired tito and lacy which showed his skill and speed was still there.

he didn't have the chin to mess around in the ring once he lost that half step he had on opponents.

with all jones flaws and limitations there is no way I can put him anywhere near a floyds level. no way no how. im not even sure I can put jones on a hops level for real
