that's completely wrong, while a torn rotator cuff is painful that is never an injury that could ever threaten any athletes career. not even pitchers. once its torn it torn, its not going to get worse.

it was as bad as it was going to get. its a very common injury. the rehab takes time but never career threatening. he didn't even have to use the arm. he could had held on the last 3 rounds even losing points every round and still won.

he was so far ahead of chris is was crazy he quit. he didn't have to throw another shot the rest of the match an he still would've won.

he was being backed up ONLY because his shoulder was injured, its not like chris was beating him up. he folded under the shoulder pain, and that was it. being a Dr. he should've known the damage was already done. I understand if it was out at that specific time, that's too much pain but it was obviously back in the joint so it shouldn't had been that painful,.

ive had both shoulders done, both acl's on my knees done. these are injuries that are very common and not as bad as people think. when the shoulder is currently dislocated, that's more painful than facturing a bone but it was back in the slot and just unable to use it.

I'm sure vitali is disgusted he quit, hindsight is always a killer

i'm sorry but the rotator cuff muscles are responsible for the entire stability of the should joint and the pressure put on a boxers should is 100 times is put on a pitch

weakness in the rotator cuffs can lead to dislocation of the shoulder and without the rotator cuffs your talking a serious dislocation, teras minor, teras major, supraspinatus, subscapularis and infra spinatatus can all be completely torn

your arm is then basically hanging on by a thread, reconstructive surgery will then be needed, huge lengthy rest period , severe muscle degeneration and a lengthy rehab program

depending on the damage they won't be able to perform much with there arm for near a year and i doubt they would ever be able to get the strength back in there rotator cuff muscles to box as the best there going to heal to is 40-60% of there original strength.

vitali made a smart decision, i personally felt he could have just went out and coasted the last few rounds but he made a smart decision for his health and career

and acl' tears are actually worse than most people think, people hear about soccer players getting them and assume there not too bad, the ligament is only going to return to around 50% of its original strength and even if you use part of your hamstring to replace its still not going to be as strong and your chances of tearing it again are alot higher. Tear the same one twice and your never going to be the same again

So he claimed. Its strange people believe Klitschko with no back up proof of injury Yet they call Bernard Hopkins a cheat when his separated shoulder against Dawson was proven by X rays & images?? Makes ya think
Wasn't it Wlad that pulled out claiming a torn stomach muscle but was caught playing golf a few days later ?? LOL

Nobody said he quit. Tyson admittedly beat fighters before he ever stepped into the ring with the. (the reason he didnt wear robe or socks) Douglas wasnt and intimidated, and he folded Mike in the 10th.. Hence the "he folded like a chair the 1st time he got stood up to"
