Unfortunately one of the hazards of being a fighter is that the guy in the other corner punches you. There is NO luck involved, he actually INTENDS to do so.

Aaaaaaah, I do love an idealist. Look up the word prizefighter. It might give you some idea about what the fight game is all about.

Byrd was miniscule risk, for little reward. Rahman and Tyson were more risk ( as evidenced by the KO 5 loss ) for far greater reward.

Anyone, and I do mean anyone who thinks prizefighters fight for anything other than money, is an idiot. Those that have made, and kept a lot of money, will talk to you about their houses, cars, boats, motorcycles, blah, blah, blah, before they will tell you about the silly belts they won.

Because more than 99% of the time when you land on someone it doesn't open up a fight ending cut.

How many punches did Vitali land on his opponents in his career and how many of them opened up a fight ending cut?

Vitali was dominating chris Byrd before he quit in 9th round due to a shoulder injury. All 3 judges had Klitschko winning comfortably at the time he retired. Chris Byrd was getting schooled... so he got the official win but he didm;t really win that fight.

Vitali to me was undefeated and tougher than Wlad. NO-ONE truly beat Vitali, even Lewis. He was also winning on points vs Lewis when fight had to be stopped due to a bad cut.

Lewis opened *multiple* cuts on Ole Quitali's face, above and below the eye. At least 3, IIRC.

Were all those cuts opened by "luck"?

Maybe because Byrd has beaten the better opposition?

It's means Ole Quitali couldn't manage to go 7 rounds with a fat, out-of-shape, disinterested Lennox Lewis...

To be fair hindsight can distort the picture a little bit. Boxing is a different kind of sport altogether. A war can reduce a great fighter to being cannon fodder or if the fighter loses and doesn't handle defeat very well he can simply become a glorified sparring partner, no more "eye of the tiger".

Also, to be fair and go a little further, Chris Byrd is actually an under appreciated boxer because his style was not exactly "fan friendly".

    I posted Vitali's top 10 wins. Please post Byrd's top 10 wins.

Vitali is a poor man's version of Wlad in regards to resume as he was dominant for several years, but didn't face as many top tier opponents/styles for as long as Wlad has.

He is still considerably ahead of CB though.

    Byrd's top wins are;

    V Klitschko
    Holyfield
    Tua

Those three wins put Ole Quitschko's resume to SHAME.
