What a lot of people don't understand is that while footwork is up there with the most important aspects of the game (if not the #1 offensive & defensive building-block) it a) doesn't have to look one particular way they may have solidified in their minds as "correct", and can manifest in many effective forms that can be wildly different aesthetically (depending on what happens to work for someone's build, cardiovascular fitness, level of athleticism, fighting style etc) - the only common denominator being the questions "does it work? Are your feet where they need to be for you to be effective?" being answered with a yes, and b) quick feet isn't the same as effective or elite footwork, nor do slower and methodical steps indicate a hole in somebody's game.

Pac and footwork don't belong in the same sentence. Hopkins and footwork do.:deal If this was Pac has the best straight left in the game today I wouldn't have said anything and let you enjoy your Pac suck off thread but this thread is about the importance of good footwork and Pac doesn't fit that criteria of a boxer with good footwork, good footspeed and a great athlete yes, good footwork hell no.

Footwork is very important if you're trying to be a complete boxer. So many down play it, but a real boxing fan welcomes it. Footwork contributes to your defense and offense, without it your a sitting duck waiting to get KO, if your fighting an opponent who knows the sweet science.
