Does he unify at CW? Or is it he didn't unify at CW and he avoided Tarver at 175.

 

Toney easily outpointed Griffin the 2nd time.Horrible decsion.

 

Did he fight again at 175? Get the feeling weight would have been an issue again if he got the fight with Jones instead of Griffin.

What was Toney doing at that point?

He was fighting the likes of Michael Rush and Jason Robinson.

Benn(wbc) and Eubank(wbo) wanted nothing to do with him nor could they be considered better fighters than him. Unclear why a rematch with Nunn(wba) never happened, but Toney would of been considered the favourite going in. So I consider him to be the man in the division

Johnson had had EXACTLY the same number of fights when he KTFO Jones ( 51 ) and he was actually a couple of weeks older than Jones.

But why let a couple of factual statistics get in the way of good old fashioned nut hugging?

 

Bob Fitz won the World Middle ( 158 ) title

Won the World Heavyweight title

Then won the World Light Heavy ( 170 ) title

These are also facts, and there is a very good chance he did so WITHOUT the help of PED's.

 

Possibly other 175 pounders realised that they might have to defend Ruiz' worthless trinket if they won it, as opposed to just " talking " about defending it like Jones did.

Notice I said POSSIBLY, because that is subjective, it can't be proven. Much like the stuff you palm off as objective.

It's crazy Jones , Toney, Calzaghe all had loads of talent but I believe never reached the zenith they could have because of comp whereas Hopkins who wasn't as talented physically has had arguably a better career than all 3. Toney was thee most disappointing though out of the whole bunch and it kind of robs Jones of this win which can now be nitpicked like all hell because of Toneys weight issues and mediocre career.

I do not think Calzaghe belongs in that league though, legacy wise or skills wise.

Of the three, Toney has the best resume. Hopkins the best legacy.
