Yea because Calzaghe was knocked out before and sorry to tell you but Calzaghe was leagues ahead of most of Jones opposition.

Interesting. For the first Griffin fight HBO did a piece with Jones hanging out with Ali. Griffin of course was trained by Futch, who Ali knows very well - or should I say Futch knows Ali very well.

Griffin and Futch had a solid game plan and gave Jones fits, but doesn't mean anything really with a fight between Jones and Calzaghe.

No one on here I think is as bias as you Herol. I am sure I could give a list of part time boxers on BOTH their resumes. But you pretend that only one of them cherry picked their fights. Read through my posts and you will see I state them BOTH as having question marks over their careers because of opposition they chose to fight in their prime.

Not judging by Jones competition. Jones like Calzaghe was talented. Yes Jones was more physically gifted but he wasted most of his career fighting bums. Calzaghe was very talented and did the same with his career. Neither one of them for instance were on the level of fighters like SRL, Duran, Hagler, Amd Hearns who were all the best of their time and fought eachother instead we got a bunch of great boxers in their prime not fighting the top comp around them.

I agree with that, jones is below those MWs on that list.

but calzaghe isn't even in the runnings h2h. the list he is on comes from a different tree.

just being accurate, glad you agree with truth.

the peds thing , even if it was just once, takes jones down a peg as well so he can never share the berth with the very best.

That's actually why I rate Calzaghe over him is because of the steroid thing. Jones was a physical fighter and if roids attributed to that I just can't rank him. I was big on Shane Mosley til it came out he was dirty. Roy said he was taking an over the counter Ripped fuel and didn't know it contained Andro. Andro can up your testosterone 2 times but Roy popped with over 6 times the limit. He also said he took a nasal decongestant which obviously isn't ripped fuel. It's disappointing but I will always rank clean fighters over dirty ones. It also tarnishes Toneys career the stigma of coming up unclean and that leaves Benard who I am big on especially since he wasn't as physically talented as these other fighters but definitely has a grand boxing IQ. Too bad his body can't keep up with his mind anymore.

Sooooo many disappointments than you got Ward who I thought was going to destroy Bute and then move on to takeover LHW and his career went to ****. Dirrel never amounted to anything either. That's why I am high on Froch he is soooooooo damn limited but his willpower is unreal it has taken him to the top of the sport.

Great tribute thread to the greatest SMW ever.
As we know, all roads lead to Calzaghe. Name a great and they all go back to the greatest SMW ever.

M Tyson - Lost to Holyfield, who lost to Ruiz, who lost to Jones, who lost to CALZAGHE

M Ali - Lost to Holmes, who lost to Tyson, who lost to Holyfield, who lost to Ruiz, who lost to Jones, who lost to CALZAGHE

    W Klitschko, V Klitschko, L Lewis, J Toney, S Mosely, O De La Hoya, S R Leonard, S R Robinson, T Hearns, M Hagler, R Duran -
All roads really do lead to Calzaghe the greatest and arguably P4P #1 ever
