Armin Mrkanovic vs. Dave Valykeo, 6 rounds @ cruiserweight

 

Round 1

Mrkanovic is swarming in and slapping down on Valykeo with jabs and chops on the face. Valykeo is bowing forward, gloves spread wide a few inches below his chin, loading up on wide looping punches and getting countered with flurries by the taller Mrkanovic jumping in. Mrkanovic switches to southpaw and taps Valykeo into the ropes with a couple of right jabs, then hops out with a chopping flurry.

Ugh, we are once again watching guys who only dabble in boxing (whose bread and butter is MMA - at least Mrkanovic. It occurs to me that Valykeo's bread and butter is probably...well, actual bread and butter, 3 meals a day...)

 

Round 2

Mrkanovic is switching his stance frequently while dancing around, dropping light combos on the face of the much shorter and slower and more stationary Valykeo. Mrkanovic is dancing on his toes, failing to sit down on any shots and not capitalizing when he connects flush to make Valykeo blink. Valykeo is just plodding straight inside lobbing wide left jabs at the body and throwing badly telegraphed overhand rights lunging in face-first.

Round 3

Mrkanovic is switching to southpaw after each full revolution around Valykeo, popping light jabs and bouncing in place, heels dribbling on the canvas in sync with his forefeet planted. Valykeo just roams into him, throwing jabs into the air and then hooking wide off the jab without settling down or slowing his roll. Mrkanovic is loading up with lead overhand lefts from outside after letting his arms dangle by his knees on the outside, taunting.

Round 4

Mrkanovic is dancing around doing his usual thing, except minus the flurries. Mrkanovic a bit arm-weary. Valykeo is just entering the front door, inviting himself in for tea, powdering Mrkanovic's nose with light shooing jabs. Mrkanovic is doing nothing except circle away, using his legs and then bending his knees, at which point Valykeo simply jabs into his cornrows.
