Brian Rose @Brian_Lion_Rose · 11h 11 hours ago Ian john Lewis needs to ref a non contact sport . Yes I was buzzed with a shot but so was he a minute before. joke. Never give me a chance Brian Rose @Brian_Lion_Rose · 11h 11 hours ago He apologised to me 3 times after the decision!!! Why apologise to me if he thinks it's the right decision ???
Strange how often it seems we see fighters nowadays all over the place from punches nowhere near the chin. I honestly don't remember it so often a few years ago. Styles changing? Turning away from punches? Might be something.
The man is pretty bad. Was he responsible for the insane 30-27 card in the Arnfield vs Hall fight or was that the infamous Terry O'Connor again? The stoppage was at least premature, but it's funny to see the fallout after a Brit falls victim to it instead of some poor foreigner. When it happened to Groves and Enzo we got this stuff too, while it has happened to many fighters from all over the world when they visited the isle.
Not giving Halla round was in many ways WORSE IMO? IJL is a disgrace. Boxers should refuse to enter a ring with that clown in it...
Quite. Glen McCrory made a similar remark about the Thrilla. Aside from how bad you truly thought Rose looked the referee should have the perspective to know how early it was, and, that it was really a make or break fight for Rose in his hometown. The ever-controversial but right thing to do having jumped in would have been to administer a standing eight, but Lewis, very British of him, seemed to commit to his poor instincts and pulled the plug.
Standing 8 count why ? Having watched the fight back there was at least 15 unanswered punches. Has anyone else watched it again ? The more I watch the more I think yea right decision.
And if it was indeed the right thing to do then we would have a field day scratching off great fights that should have never been.
David Price got one vs. Tony Thompson. In all fairness Ian John Lewis probably would have stopped Thompson when Price put him over which was a very bad knock down.
Cant the ref give a standing 8 if he thinks the fighter has only been kept up by the ropes? not applicable in this case I know. Like when Bute got a count v Froch
In that circumstance it's not a standing 8 count, it's a knockdown and the count is the same as if the boxer were floored.
