It was a robbery. Ref made a mistake. Vitali should have won TD6.

Only on Planet kilt****, Can you be up a few rounds in a 12 round, before having half your eye brow removed, eyelid flapping in the wind and almost blinded by legitimate punches, and still claim victory. :rofl:rofl

A fighter with a glass jaw could not have withstood the punishment Lewis did in the fights against Mercer or Vitali. Lewis didn't have the strongest of chins, he was vulnerable, but it was no where near glass.

sure is a funny way of outboxing someone, by neglecting your defence that you are letting them rip your face off.

Yes he did, i'm aware of that and also a huge Vitali-fan. But Lewis "out jabbed" him in a certain way. Lewis managed to expose the only tiny hole in Vitalis overall game. Like no one ever did. The only boxer to do it better than Lewis is Vitalis own brother.

Lewis long, hard jab was the key to victory against Vitalis natural low guard leaning back style of defence. (a stance that always worked for him expect against Lewis because of his overall height, reach, and jab)

Wladimir would have been an even tougher matchup for Vitali because of his even superior jab than Lewis.

Someone mentioned " Mamma's boy " earlier in the thread, and it might be a good idea for the Lewis haters to read it. At least then they just might have a clue about what they waffle.

Lewis was a hard man in every sense, not just physically, a man who never forgot friends or foes.

Lennox simply would NOT be bullied, particularly by that lump of human **** King, and the lickspittle vermin in his pocket from the alphabet boys.

So when Holyfield dragged his feet in 94, Tyson dropped his belt to fight Holy instead in 96, Rahman tried to get out of the rematch clause, and King was behind all this nonsense Lewis bided his time.

And when that time came his attitude was fvck Ruiz, fvck Byrd, fvck King and any other American fighter he wants to manipulate into position. Which is why he got the big money for Tyson and Vitali, and shoved it up Kings ass at the same time.

hard to blame Lewis for Bowe throwing his belt away rather than face his Olympic conqueror

and was it Lewis' fault he couldn't drag Tyson into the same ring with him until Mike badly needing money?

his resume and legacy is very good, hardly overrated, Golota, Morrison, Tua, Holyfield are very good wins, despite whatever cirmumstances followed these bouts

Lewis' resume is not quite as good as a first glance might suggest, but its still pretty good. I rate him highly and place him at no.5 HW all time, I think, all things considered. His resume could look better, but most resumes could.

Even in the amateurs you loose fights if you can't continue. Bowe won the first round against Lewis in the amateurs, but never made it out of the second round. By your logic Bowe should have won the fight.

How many times do I, and hundreds of other posters have to tell you, that the scorecard mean **** if the fight is stopped because of one of the combatants can't continue due to a punch that landed and inflicted damage?

Lewis won by TKO 6 and this is NEVER going to change.

There was no robbery, there was no conspiracy, there was no bribes paid to the doctor, the only thing there was, was the administration of the rules of the sport.

Lewis doesn't have a win as good as Byrd. His best win is either Vitali or Holyfield who Byrd beat.
