Toney accepted the fight, believing that he would be able to make the 168lbs. limit one last time. The fight was set for November 18, 1994. Toney went into training camp for the Jones match a mere 6 weeks prior to the fight, weighing 214 lbs. By the day of the weigh-in Toney had stepped on the scale weighing a weak looking 167 lbs. He had lost 47 lbs in just 6 weeks. Toney was severely dehydrated and his camp knew it. After the weigh-in, Toney was hooked up to an I.V. in order to replace his body with fluids and he was kept on it all night until the next day of the fight. On fight day, just before entering the ring, Toney had weighed himself in the dressing room. It was reported that he weighed 186 lbs, which meant that he had gained an incredible 19 pounds in less than 24 hours. As Toney climbed into the ring and removed his robe, he revealed a soft looking body which lacked muscle tone. It became apparent that this was not the same fighter. In spite of the fact that Toney was so grossly out of shape, Jones still seemed content to fight a safe cautious fight. The result was a boring 12 round decision win for Jones. This became Toney’s first loss after 46 pro fights. After the fight, Toney admitted that he had been weakened by making the weight and stated that he would move up to the Light Heavyweight division.

This is from Toneys biography if you allow for circumstances this win isn't all that great.

He even lost his next fight and got a new trainer and management team because it wasn't the same Toney anymore.

Not a great win , Toney was undefeated ,the number 2 or 3 ranked best fighter p4p ,the betting favorite and Roy was moving up in weight to challenge for James ' title

Toney was infomous for ballooning up in weight between fights how was that Jones fault ?

Not a great win ,come on now ..Who has ever made James look like that ..

He took performance enhancing drugs. It is cheating. It's irrelevant which one it was he was scared of the level playing field so cheated. It was part of his inferiority complex and yours that you cannot admit it.

Joe is number 1 all time at 168, look at the poll, not the weakest era, all time he is number 1. Read it and weep. :hi:

Jones took PEDs because he's a cheat. Plain and simple.

Joe is all time number 1 in a weight class. Roy is not. And Joe did it without being a proven cheat.

And yes, Calzaghe's hands had turned to dust anyone who tries to say when 'Zaggers beat Hopkins and Jones he was in his prime is just a hater or a deluded fan boy who can't get over the fact Joe won.

So for all your usual waffle you have merely reiterated what I claimed, a fighter not being able to PULL THE TRIGGER is a sign of being a shot fighter. You believe that Jones was unable to pull the trigger due to fear of getting hit back. Good for you.

That is not the same thing at all, as say Mosley, who saw the openings and just didn't have the ability to throw the shots any more.

Mosley never had a glass chin that needed protecting, he just couldn't get punches off the way he did up until his late 30's.

Of course he does you plumb, just like Mayweather rates higher than Joe at Welter, and even Richard Dunn rates higher than Calzaghe at Heavy, for the simple reason he didn't fight in any of those divisions.:roll:

What he does have though is a record of 2 fights at L / Heavy, with 2 wins over Borenard Hopkins, and you guessed it Roid Jones.

Erm, you obviously care hence you have more post on the 'Zaggers super thread than anyone.:lol:

'Zaggers rates number 1 all time in a division, Jones doesn't- because Jones is inferior

'Zaggers didn't need PEDs, Jones did- because Jones is inferior

'Zaggers beat Jones when Joe was shot- because Joe is superior

Gimperial cannot stop talking about Joe because he's amazed at Joe's excellent body of work at 168 leading him to become the GOAT in the division and doing it without having to resort to cheating because Gimperial has an inferiority complex. :hi:

I think it is a toss up between Pacta rds and Roid freaks ( lead by GIMP erial ) as to which are the more stupid.

They are now whinging about what Calzaghe said pre Jones, then crying like little girlie Justin Beiber fans because Joe dropped his hands and mocked the fool by kissing him.

Mission accomplished by Joe, because one way or another these muppets PAID to watch Joe treat the guy exactly like he said he could. There was only one reason they watched, because much like little girlie fans they prayed their glass jawed walking steroid hero could pull off the win.

    Well he didn't.

    FACT. Bwwwwwaaaaaaaaahhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhaaaaaaaaa.

I know, if they take everything someone says as gospel then they should have more respect for Joe since Roy said with confidence he was gonna beat Joe before they fought. If Roy said he still had it, then who are they to argue? After all, they buy into the ripped fuel excuse.:lol::lol:

Go back and read the whole post you quoted, he was saying just because Roy's hands were fast doesn't mean he was not shot.. It is a fair statement, and you accused him of trying to rewrite the definition of shot.

So Calzaghe putting his hands down and nearly touching noses with Roy while Roy just stands there isn't the same thing as seeing and opening and not being able to get the shots off?:rofl

Ok. Roy couldn't get punches off either like he did in his 20's.
