even if you consider that performance a win, the answer is a resounding no. chagaev beat valuev far more convincingly.

not only that, but he didn't actually WIN the fight. He was gifted a decision; I watched it several times and was amazed just how badly corrupt our sport is. Holyfield won the fight fair and square, gets robbed. Haye loses the fight on inactivity, landing one meaningful punch the whole night, and he gets the win because he is young and can sell himself. The cost? 50% of all of Haye's earnings in the next 3 fights.

I'm comparing Haye to Vitali and not to Chagaev. :huh

Not when you consider how he did it. He arguably lost!

So why didn't you bring up Chagaev's Valuev win? Why troll us with Haye?

Chagaev's win over Valuev was not only more impressive, but it was also against a younger Valuev not riddled with health issues

Lets see if I can put this in terms that will make it all clear for you.

Is Bradleys win over Pacquiao better than any one of Mayweather's wins?

plus Chagaev actually won, rather than give up 50% of his next 3 purses for a W in the record.

    No, Valuev was rubbish.

As someone already said, he was lucky to get the decision against Holyfield in his previous fight. That's a 46-year-old Holyfield who'd already lost badly to ... Ibragimov, Donald, Toney, Byrd ..
... and that wasn't Valuev's first disputed decision.

Vitali has fought a few better opponents than that. Not many, and not much better, but still.

Also, if you saw Haye's "win" over Valuev you'll remember it utter rubbish too.

Yes. Vitali's resume was more overrated than his skills were

I'm not disputing any of that (Valuev did get lucky with Holyfield - and you're right, Haye was hardly impressive running donuts around him for 11.5 rounds before suddenly exploding with a single flurry which kinda sorta affected Valuev, a little) except that Vitali fought better opponents. Hair splitting, but still...
