http://www.independent.ie/irish-new...in-charged-with-criminal-damage-31001760.html not what we wanted him to be in the news for,
Can't say I'm impressed. At the very least there should have been a prosecution against the cousins that attacked him and broke both his legs. In fact our police force (police farce more like!) should have taken the matter out of Nevins hands altogether. Then there was the drunken row with his father, and now this. And the best part is....the rest of us pay for it all. A great little country.....yes indeed!
I see john Joe Nevin is in more trouble...again.... The general trend of that boys conduct does not strike me as being the right one for someone aspiring to boxing success as a pro. atsch. :-(
Connie Sheehan signs with Gary Hyde and debuts next month in Bristol, Great move by Sheehan IMO and could see Hyde running more shows in Ireland,:bbb:happy
That's a disgrace, if true. It certainly gives ammunition to people like Fra who believe no Irishman gets a fair deal in Britain.
hyde hasn't got a great track record with irish fiters.... id have stayed well clear of him if id have been con:good
not only irish boxers...but any oversea fiter that boxes there...the brits complain about the germans and there home town decisions... but they are just as bad if not worse:good
Cheers. I'm just hard up for some live fisticuffs. Besides, that Sutfcliffe Jnr. lad is considered a real prospect, yes? Taking a bit of a step up here? ...and I have to admit I'm curious to see whether Collins Jr. has improved any.
You'll hsve another case of dodgy scoring to complain about soon. Watch Andy Lee get shafted in the US against Quillin.
Yes definitely, Sutlciffe is a very solid prospect. He can punch very hard and has solid boxing skills aswell. he just couldn't make it at top level as an am because the old scoring rules, 3 round fights and headgear didn't suit a stalking puncher like him. He will go far as a pro though. Provided his hands hold up I could see him knocking on a European title in 18 months time. Tommy McCarthy, also fighting on the red cow show is better than him though, great puncher with solid skills and he was very unlucky not to win a world championship medal in 2013. Collins isn't rated too highly but he had no amateur career whatsoever so i think he's doing pretty well and will undoubtedly get better. He is strong and athletic and it comes naturally to him. Needham appears to be a step up, but I think Phil will blow him out with ease.
