An avenged win vs. Sanderline Williams after the draw (early in his career),
Reggie Johnson is a multiple division titlist and excellent fighter
Mccallum is a hall of famer
Merqui Sosa was a monster (not high level skillwise but strong and powerful and gave lots of people issues)
Michael Nunn (another multiple division titlist, who should really be in the hall of fame)
Tiberi I really have no answer for that one :patsch
Ultimately Toney's class shows throughout his record, pre LHW. He took no shorts at all

no, because James Toney was an exceptionally talented fighter. Perhaps the best defensive fighter of his generation and an highly skilled, dynamic offensive fighter, who could fight inside and outside, threw fast combinations, and had power.

all of that is entirely greek to you, because to understand any of what I said requires some feeling for boxing (not Boxrec) and ability to detect talent. You don't have that. It's kind of sad.

Ok, so with all that talent, you ignore all of those disputed wins leading to Jones and act as if they didnt happen which basically means you are doing what you are accusing me of and looking at his boxrec. You foiled yourself with that .
so you alledgedly note skills, forget disputed decisions or the Tiberi fight and exposed how you are taken in by hype

:patsch:lol: You cant even decide yourself what Im supposed to have said . Think you need to read that thread again. I asked if people thought Dawson would always have had problems with Karpency. Fruitpunch, sounds like you have taken too many to the head with the way you are getting it so wrong and should maybe change your name to fruitloaf

    This.

Other than Tiberi, there is nothing wrong with being in tough fights against any of the guys listed. Not really sure how listing those names proves whatever point the OP is trying to make.

    failey fails again

i guess its ok when you build up your HEROES resumes by beating no names who would later win some paper title .
basing on what they "went on on to do"
fits your agenda better i know ;)

If Toney was a win on Joe C resume as would be described by BAILEY

    - drawn with Top CONTENDER S Williams
    - Win over NABF Champion M Sosa
    - KO'd UNDEFEATED M Nunn before the finish
    - WIN over future middleweight and light heavyweight champ R Johnson
    - draw with 3 division champ and future hall of fame M McCallum
    - had a SD with #1 ranked Tiberi
    - WON REMATCH 3 division champ and future hall of fame M McCallum

see how great toney would look had Joe BEAT him?

    A few things to consider:

Nunn and Mike were elite fighters.

Yes, he under performed in some keep busy fights.

Reggie was a very good fighter.

    Merqui was a good fighter.

Going into the fight with Roy, he'd recently knocked out Tim Littles in four rounds, who was a good fighter.

Roy beat him easier than anyone else.
