Apparently there are a lot of knowledgeable people here,, so the poll shows the correct outcome. I've never thought Pavlik looked awesome, technically. I will admit that he accomplished more than I thought he would, though.
Dude, I'm not a Pavlik nuthugger. I'm simply saying that he has consistently proven his ability to force people onto the backfoot and take punishment from guys with comparable power. He would be the proven entity in this matchup.
This would be exciting, but I think GGG would stop Pavlik. Pavlik's guts would be his undoing, and GGG is so spectacular at finding a home for his punches.
Don't confuse him. He also thinks Taylor is more athletic than GGG. No doubt from seeing Taylor athletically flop around the ring canvas multiple times.
Golovkin defense is his offense. Pavlik was tall and had reach. I think that version of Pavlik would start busting Golovkin up. Its too bad Pavlik can't leave the bottle alone and get back in shape. I think he matches up favorably with Golovkin.
Two years ago when GGG first fought on HBO this poll came up with Pavlik getting 2/3 the votes, each succeeding poll GGG has gained votes, culminating in this current landslide.
GGG would have massacred pavlik. Seriously if you can't tell the wide difference in skills then you dont know **** about boxing. Pavlik was entertaining as hell and packed a mean punch. But other than a big punch he had nothing else. All he had was a jab-jab-right hand. GGG is a decorated amateur along with his devastating power. He would have absolutely destroyed pavlik.
If a club fighter with a pitiful 20.83 KO% can hurt Pavlik like this with a solitary left hand high on the head, then what on earth do you think would happen if Golovkin with his 90.32 KO% caught him on his noggin with one of his brutal lefts? Pavlik looked as drunk as a skunk after shipping that shot, more so than he ever did during any of his wildest benders in the bars and clubs of Youngstown. [YT]21qBIZLffTk[/YT] We all saw the effect one of Golovkin's brutal lefts to the top of the head had on Marco Antonio Rubio, that's the same Marco Antonio Rubio who Pavlik threw everything bar the kitchen sink at for nine rounds trying to put on his ass to no avail. [YT]fMsON57EZbs[/YT] And like I said in my previous post, Golovkin has already stopped a baldie fighter called ''The Ghost'', whereas Pavlik has never fought, let alone beaten any ''GGGs''. In fact, he's been dropped heavily and been beaten by opponents whose names feature the letter G more than once: Sergio Gabriel Martinez and Fulgencio Zuniga. :deal
