    He beat some great fighters.

He also had good wins when he was grossly overweight.

Why are you obsessed with the Tiberi fight? It happens.

Roy wasn't always on his A game.

    Neither was Joe or Eubank.

Look at fights against Starie and Thornberry?

Look at fights against Close and Schommer etc?

Toney proved himself to be a great fighter, with wins against Nunn, McCallum, Reggie, Sosa and Littles etc.

And before you start, I don't care if he was behind, or they were close fights etc.

He proved he was a world class fighter.

Toney was mayweather but he had an offense unlike Floyd ( no *****s not his **** gut jab, I mean offense that could ko you or actually cause damage)

In that way he was everything broner wishes he could be

It was no lucky win either, Roy just dominated him

The man fought Johnson, McCallum*2, Nunn, Barkley, Prince C. Williams, Sosa, Johnson, Littles, and throw in the post man Thornton-all before his super fight with Jones.

I do think Toney is an amazing fighter, his exploits at higher weights against far bigger and more powerful men proved that he was an incredibly skilled fighter, even with the PED use it was remarkable that he could outbox Ruiz and go the distance with Peter.

But Bailey does bring up a valid point. Toney was horribly inconsistent, when he was bad, he was very bad, his resume is littered with losses to inferior fighters and controversial decisions like the Tiberi fight where he looks far from being the P4P fighter he was made out to be. In all honesty at the time I really didn't see what Toney had done to really separate himself from the other title holders like Eubank and Benn.

So which Toney did Jones Jr beat? The one that beat Nunn and McCallum or the one that struggled with Tiberi or lost to Thadzi? We all know Toney struggled to make weight like in the Tiberi fight, the fact is Jones Jr very likely beat a version of Toney that was far from elite. But of course that's not Jones Jr's fault he can only beat the man that showed up but the quality of the win has to be taken in context.

Even Roid admitted during the post-fight interview for the fight that he thought Toney's struggles making weight was going to be a big factor.

Larry Merchant: ''Did you know from the first minute and a half that you were just too quick for him?''

Roid Jones Jr.: ''Yeah. I was much too fast for him and I know that the weight he lost was going to be a different thing for him to handle.''

Larry Merchant:'' You mention weight.. what did you know personally about the difficulty he was having with weight?''

Roid Jones Jr.:''Well, I come from 178.. sometimes 180 to make 160. That's a very tough thing to do and then fight 12 rounds.''

Well Toney had to shift much more weight than that to make weight for that fight and he only had about six weeks to do it too. He'd ballooned up to about 340 lbs after his previous fight if I remember correctly.

The win is basically meaningless in my eyes. PED free journeyman Dave Tiberi whipping Toney is a much more impressive feat than Jones beating him, IMHO, and I don't see anyone calling him ''Superman'' :deal

    McCallum is a HOF fighter
Reggie Johnson was an elite MW at the time.
Nunn was arguably the top guy at MW when Toney KO'd him

    What exactly is your point?

Because he didnt KO McCallum,Johnson and Nunn in the first round, he wasnt a top fighter?

340? Really... I knew he was very undisciplined, but I didn't think he had to drop 180 pounds to make a fight. I have a hard time believing he got that fat. I'm not even sure that's possible to lose 180 pounds tween fights, even if you had amphetamines and clen only type diet.

Take your man love for Joe Calzaghe to Newbridge. I'm sure if you ask him nicely he'll let you suck his d.i.c.k.

You and Mindfvcked are the 2 most obsessed posters on this forum as far as Calzaghe is concerned. As soon as anyone starts a thread about that PED cheating scum Roid Jones, one of you bleats like a little lamb that's lost its mother Calzaghe, Calzaghe, Calzaghe.

This thread is a 2 for the price of 1 thread. 2 scumbag steroid cheats at the same sitting. The questions should be who was the better of the 2 cheating fvckpigs, and who got away with it for the longest?
