he is a backstabbing slimeball but he does tell it like it is, its kind of refreshing sometimes when you got people only asking questions to certain people knowing it wont **** them off and get them off the list for press conferences

im sure it was ariza in an interview recently blasting the media for sucking the **** of so many people and not pressing the hard questions to them. unfortunately if they dont all do it then they get shafted

Well said! This attitude of only casuals/newbies like to talk about this fight is totally ridiculous and arrogant. The whole boxing world is talking and still waiting 5 years on with every boxing forums dominated by this possible fight. Its stupid how this site merges all threads regarding these 2 irrespective of the subject.

These guys may not be young anymore but still posses the speed, power and skill to beat most if not all other fighter either side of their weight division. So they are totally relevant still and ofcourse people will want to talk about them.

But talk to about these two here and you get condescending replies.. Even from the mods as you'be just experienced.. crazy!

Yes its easy to act like your right when you've been saying "it will happen" for the last 5 years.. and incase you haven't noticed Floyd is the one blamed by the overwhelming majority of the boxing community For this fight not happening.

He's now after 5 years only taking this fight cos hes backed into a corner and its been demanded by everyone around him that this is the only fight that will be accepted, by fight fans and his bosses at CBS/showtime.

    Time to wake up brah

you did not see the events of 2012? really?, even as recent as jan he was still making bull**** excuses like the may date being offensive to mexicans if non mexican fighters take the date.

i think he is now coming to the table because 1. moonvez and 2. floyd is approaching pac on his own trying to clear the air and get the fight made

Arum was the one who brought moonves to the table. Don't twist it. If not for moonves, floyd would still be fighting guys like guerrero and maidana for $32M / fight and loosing showtime some money.

Pac cornered your idol floyd and he has no choice but to fight him or be labelled a ducker.

Well, I'll say I believe he's in an overtrained state, which is what led to his departure from the sport a few years ago.

Symptoms of severe overtraining include injuries, fatigue, loss of hormones, etc...

Plus, his lifestyle choices probably add additional stress, especially the Pacquaio situation which is outside of his control.

What is this BS about Floyd's conditioning? Everyone knows floyd takes care of himself - doesn't drink, lives well. You hear everyone from hopkins, to network announcers to friends say this. They all claim he has preserved himself by 1. not taking many punches in his career and 2. living well; Floyd is known for this.

He is older but look at Klitcho, who is older than Floyd. Floyd is in prime physical shape, a boxer who has taken few punches and taken care of himself. If anything, it's Pacquiao that has taken more abuse in the ring (especially earlier in his career - Morales, JMM etc..) and probably taken less care of himself outside the ring as everyone claims Floyd really lives well.

So, stop the nonsense about Floyd, he seems to be in tip top prime physical shape and can certainly get in top shape for this fight. Glad fight is happening now cause i was worried Floyd was going to fight twice more this year (he has two fights left under showtime) and then look to fight Pacquiao in 2016, when he's 39. I think Floyd realizes that now is the time, when he feels he is still in great physical shape and can perform at a high level.

I hear you, but he fights maybe twice a year if that, again, while I do have a health fitness background, I'm not sure that's enough to cause such a state of oxidative stress, where his cells are rusting away from the inside, causing hormonal imbalance.

I'm not a poliquin bio signature guy, but that's more up his alley. Anyway that's not my point, I do think he takes care of his body to the utmost extent, and don't buy the mc nuggets and fast food glimpses sold to us all on previous 24/7s. Floyd is not articulate, has impulse issues, and a napoleonic complex, which is understandable as that was his persona which got corrupted by his success, but that said
he's very smart in taking care of himself and his health, as well as his finance. Floyd is a survivor, and can handle large success and the perks and pressure, which is not so easy, and is an often overlooked form of intelligence.

As far as hormonal enhancement, ie peds, i don't think anyone at this level is taking solely for the****utic, but to raise testosterone, hgh, igf1 levels to a more optimal level, as they decrease substantially early to mid 30s. Take into consideration the game of hundreds of millions at stake... Well you get the picture.

I'm reading "Right Hand To The Champ" where this woman speaks about her life being his right hand man basically. She started his business with him, and she was probably the closest person to him. She said he left boxing early because he had a ton of money and that was it. He retired, wanted to enjoy life, and felt he didn't have to box anymore. However, he had a financial crises where millions of dollars were stolen, losing huge bets, business not doing well... sooo, he was forced to come back.

The book sounds honest, and I don't think she'd have any reason to lie about everything. Her and Floyd were good friends and he took care of her in a lot of ways.

And to the overtraining...he may be getting older to the point to where his body can't handle the intensity of training that he did when he was 30. That's definitely plausible.

Also, let me reiterate to those who think I'm using age as some upcoming excuse if Floyd loses. I'm not. This is simply observing all variables in the fight because all variables matter. This fight isn't what it was in 2011, 2012. It's different. So, if age is a major factor in causing the outcome then we have to include it. Age is actually one of the reasons why I think Pacquiao has a good shot at winning this. A lot of people talk about Pac's age (36), but forget Mayweather's (38 in a few days). We have to include these factors in the fight. It's not making an excuse for someone. There are no excuses, but I am observing all factors when making a prediction.
