He did look totally emaciated. I wonder why Toney didn't stay close to his fighting weight for that fight?

I agree they dont always fight to full capabilities and have off nights, or fight to the level of the competition at times. That can happen, but I wasnt referring to one occasion. Also have you watched the fight before the Jones fight? Im sure with that fight and several others, Jones saw things that he could do to make the fight work for him.

Cant see what is difficult for you? Toney was behind against Nunn, Froch was behind against Taylor and they pulled it back with stoppages, but that doesnt mean that style problems were shown before the stoppages. Groves had seen style problems for Froch and was using them to his advantage before he got stopped.
Why does that bother you? Those style problems were shown and are something other fighters can use if they have the ability, which often top fighters do and can.
    Explain why that troubles you

Im not sure what the blanked out part says?
Yes as much as I am a Froch fan, some of those results dont look great. The loss to Kessler, who was faded, unwell and suffering double vision and coming off a loss possibly showed a level, but with this current era, Froch has still had good success.
Similar to what I am asking fans with regards to Toney and the draw with Williams, the close decisions and debated decisions. Different style problems were shown, which top fighters could capitalise on. Please try and stay on subject and not drift off if possible please

If Toney had not have got the decisions in some of the close fights leading up to the Jones fight, would the Jones win, have been viewed as such a big win?

    Yes or No?

What is bothering everyone is you're not giving credit to the opponents of the opponents. You're belittling the Groves and Nunn's of the world, and boxing fans ain't buying what you're selling. Everyone can't win onsided fights and ko everyone. The best have come under fire and prevailed.

Toney had his share of close fights but he won and was a terror before Jones beat him. That created the super fight between him and jones. Jones superb talent, speed and power against toneys chin shoulder roll and power. The fact that toneys resume was that advanced going into the fight made this thee fight. I don't judge cal for being knocked down by Byron Mitchell, I judge him for coming back to stop Mitchell.

    You get it!!!

Im not belittling anyone and was a fan of Nunn and am a fan of Groves. I credit Groves for looking at what he had seen with Froch and being able to exercise it. I was one of the few who picked for Groves in the first fight and mentioned what I felt he could do. Thats not belittling.
I am giving massive credit to fighters being able to pull a win out of the bag, but that is not what is in discussion or what was being asked. See the question simplified for you. The question you have a problem with -
