If Toney had not have got the decisions in some of the close fights leading up to the Jones fight, would the Jones win, have been viewed as such a big win?

    Yes or No?

Well according to you beating undefeated fighters is a big deal ! You know the ****,that you talk about Ward so answer me this how is it not a great win Toney was undefeated and a top rated p4p fighter because by your logic like I said beating undefeated fighters is a big deal in your world !

So regardless of his previous fights to answer your question is yes it was a big win !

Are you not wanting a debate now?

I've answered your question, which is a very good question.

Again, a lot of people already thought that James had lost to Tiberi before he fought Roy.

IMHO, had James had lost to Reggie and Mike, Roy's win possibly may not have been as highly regarded. However, Reggie and Mike were elite guys, so losing close decisions to them, may not have affected his standing that much. But if none of the other results had changed, Roy would still had been credited wth beating a guy easily, who'd beaten Nunn, Barkley and Littles etc.

    So again, my answer is:

It may not have been as highly regarded, but I don't think there would have been much in it. I still think Roy would have gotten near enough the same amount of credit had Toney lost to Reggie and Mike.

    Okay?

Now give me your opinion on Eubank and Collins.

    :good

You havent answered. I wrote, if Toney had not have got the decision in all those fights, would it have been viewed as such a big win for Jones.
    Yes or No
    You still havent answered. Why?

I think it was a big win with alot of that based on Toney having an 0, but had he not got the decision over Tiberi, Sosa, McCallum etc and had a loss, I dont think it would be viewed as big a win.

You see, I dont have any problem answering, why do you?

The predictions about Imperial ducking always come through

    Finally :thumbsup

Collins/Eubank is for another thread, so I will be brief and say I rate Collins win highly as he was coming up in weight to challenge the then most accomplished SMW ever.
The differences being that Collins wasnt a known hyped fighter like Jones and possibly not as naturally gifted.
Jones was already a known talented fighter who had dipped his feet in the SMW division with good success and was now facing a fighter coming off a tough gruelling fight
Collins had not really been in at a good level at SMW and in only his fight before was facing Pyatt for a MW title, whilst Eubank was coming off a great performance over Wharton.
Had Eubank suffered losses to Close, then that win wouldnt be rated as highly, but Eubank would still have held the greater resume at the weight

Oops, there you go again presenting facts to these fanboys.:lol:

A US senator demanding an investigation into the result, which uncovered the FACT that 2 of the judges were not even licensed in New Jersey is a little more than CICUMSTANCES wouldn't you say?:rofl:rofl:rofl:good

Can't wait for Dizzy Miss Lizzy to try and claim some perverse victory in this instance.

I think i remember the commentators saying that Roy was a slight underdog comming into the fight. With that in mind it was an outstanding win outclassing Toney completely :)
