I don't think it will look at all like the Mosley fight, who is jittery and anxious and has almost never been able to turn a fight going against him back around once he loses momentum. Pac has a much more unusual offense. I'm not saying Floyd can't shut him down, but it is clear to me that Mosley is mentally a very different fighter than Pacquiao.

Even if the fight is 5 years late, I still expect it to make the sport a ****load of money. Both Floyd and Manny should be set for life from this fight.

I expect it to break PPV records.

Pac camp thinks Floyd is shot and Floyd camp thinks Pac is shot. Honestly both are past their prime but at the end of the day we get to see the two best boxers of their generation go at it. May the best man win.

I already know what's gonna happen though, Pac will get at least one KD and look like he's winning with a lot of pressure and combos. While Floyd lands cleaner punches and sneaks rounds. Resulting in a highly controversial split decision for Floyd and nothing resolved. Everything resets back to square one as this whole saga begins again for the rematch.

That puzzled the **** out of me... Mosley has been to that stage before, but looked so nervous like he's fighting a panic attack.
Looked like he had an adrenalin dump, and by the 9th round just wanted to go home. I was so disappointed with his performance, another weird thing too in that fight was floyd appeared to be the stronger on in that fight pushing Mosley around mid to late rounds in the clinch.
Floyd looked great, but man, after looking good against tony, Shane looked like complete dog **** in that fight. I'm a huge Mosley fan, and was so ****ed about the outcome of that fight.

Sorry, I didn't mean the fight itself... Just the whole Mayweather is too scared, fight is signed, Floyd was forced into it... Floyd wins, he waited for Shane to get old... Exactly what will happen with this fight IMO

Mosley was coming also from 16months of inactivity when floyd fought him. Not good for an ageing fighter.

Remember also that pac's ring age is longer than floyd and was involved in more wars. His style is also not more suited for longevity while floyd's style is, coupled with floyd taking long vacations, 1 fight per year on a long stretch and inferior opposition compared to pac.

Fight was signed yesterday and already the excuses are flowing in.
Rinse and repeat. You Pac lovers are treating Pac like he's just another opponent on Floyd's menu. I would have expected you guys to have a lot more faith in the second best fighter of this generation.

Did you miss the video with floyd saying he's more concerned with his health than fighting Pac? Of course Floyd was scared, thats why he demanded the drug tests. He never did it to any fighter before pac.

FLOYD HAS NEVER FACED ANYONE REMOTELY LIKE PAC. Floyd has made a career of kicking around tomato cans, and in almost a decade hasn't faced an elite/prime fighter. This is a BIG STEP UP for Floyd, he better be ready. Finally he facing an ELITE and still very active legit fighter. Neither man are prime anymore which evens things out, before FLoyd had beaten ELITE fighters but they were washed up, Mosley and Oscar. This is going to be interesting to see Floyd finally face legit competition. Pac could expose him, or Floyd may elevate to another level and embarass pac. Its tough to say, but i've seen floyd slow down, not as quick, movement isn't as sharp, and pac has the footwork to keep up if Floyd wants to run.

Some of the things i hear as to why Mayweather could embarrass Pacquiao and totally dominate him

    1. Mayweather is undefeated whilst Pacquiao has 5 losses

My take - True and you cannot take this away from Floyd, kudos to him. Having said this, this doesn't worry me. These 5 losses need to be broken down. First and foremost, 99% of boxing experts agree Pac beat Bradley on that first fight, so let's start with the #4 - his true losses. 2 of these came before 1999 when Pacquiao was a much less experienced and less complete fighter. The other came in 05, so 10 years ago and against a guy he destroyed in two subsequent fights. The 4th, was JMM but Pacquiao was beating up JMM before getting KO'd. if JMM were dominating this fight, it would've been worse. I know a loss is a loss BUT i do feel it's different when a fighter is winning and gets careless vs when a fighter is getting dominated and then KO'd. Pacquiao got reckless...

So, after ****yzing this more closely, not much of a factor

    2. Pacquiao has declined more than Mayweather.

My take - I strongly disagree. Manny looked pretty sharp in his last 3 fights, sharper than Mayweather did against Maidana, IMO. Mayweather is 1 year older. Also, Pacquiao has faced the better fighters in his last 4 fights - two guys in pound for pound list - Bradley and JMM. Maywether, did face Canelo but Guerrero and Maidana are not as good as Bradley and JMM. I think Paquiao has looked closer to his prime and fought better fighters in his last 4 fights than Floyd. Yes, JMM knocked him out but pacquiao actually looked really good in that fight, except that KO where he made 1 mistake

    3. If JMM beat Pacquiao, imagine Floyd.

My take - Two counterpunchers WHO are completely different. First of all, JMM has a lot more KOs than Floyd and secondly he is always willing to trade punches with Manny, something i would be shocked to see in Floyd. JMM has gotten beat up in virtually every fight against Manny, looking for that 1 punch, which he finally got in 4th fight. Floyd will not be trading punches looking for a KO, so he won't fight Manny in same manner.

    4. Floyd is stronger and has longer reach

My take - True but we can say the same thing about Cotto, De La Hoya, Algieri, Margareito? all of which Manny beat up badly? Manny has always been underestimated against bigger guys. Some said ODLH, Cotto and Margarito were too big, what happened? I'm not sure this will be a deciding factor

    5. Manny has lost killer instinct and he will need it vs floyd

My take - well, two things here 1. Being reckless and ultra aggressive may not actually work against Floyd as Floyd will have more opportunities to counter. Manny will need to use a combination of smart tactics and aggression here, i don't see him beating Floyd being reckless. 2. Manny's killer instinct never went away. He was absolutely a killer vs JMM before making 1 mistake and getting KO'd (an example why killer instinct can be a problem). He then faced defensive fighters who are hard to KO - Bradley *2 and Algieri. Rios he pretty much destroyed but is a guy with a strong chin (never being KO'd).

when i break these down, i just don't see them standing up to scrutiny.

Floyd has fought tomato cans? He's never fought legit competition? What? Almost every opponent Floyd's fought since G. Hernandez back in 1998 have been champions, former champions, or top 10 contenders.

You say Floyd has fought tomato cans. In reality, he MAKES his opponents look like tomato cans.

good post i guess but it has nothing to do with what I said .

career of kicking around tomato cans...yet he's only fought guys coming off of major wins and belt holders....
I Love how Mosley became instabum status the minute that fight was signed. People (Floyd haters really) were saying Floyd was shook and visibly scared when Mosley hopped in the ring and called him out. They said Floyd would duck Mosley and would never fight him. Fight gets signed and people go "Floyd only signs fights he knows he will win". The SAME **** is happening here with Pacquiao and it's hard to believe as to why. Pacquiao, while no longer in his prime, isn't shot by any means and is still a great fighter.

"If Floyd wants to run"...I won't even touch that. Floyd 'ran' in the 12th against Maidana. Besides that....when has he 'ran'?

Floyd knew like the rest of us that Mosely was juiced to the gills in the Margarito fight. He knew Mosely would have to be clean to face him. If Floyd was the ATG you claim he is he'd have fought Margarito himself

If Floyd fights and beats Pacquiao, he should fight Brook to determine the Undisputed WW Champion.

Then he could challenge Thurman for his last fight, in a passing of the torch fight, like his fight with Oscar was.
