Boxnation confirmed in a tweet to me that it will definitely NOT BE ON Boxnation :deal You heard it here first :happy
Heard that all before with ESPN few years ago and with BT recently. Look at the new EPL TV deal and then tell me if BT can easily outbid Sky. ESPN with Disney behind them never got anywhere close to Sky sports when they ran a UK operation. BT Sport will only be interested if they feel that the cost of the event will generate enough new subscriptions. If not then they will not bother. You say BT have unlimited funds but they still haven't managed to take most prime sports away from Sky. BT have shareholders they need to keep happy. Can't just throw money at everything. It doesn't work like that at all. I hope it's on Sky as Sky will give this fight the huge promotion it deserves.
yeh that's what I meant, doubt many people watched the last mayweather vs maidana fights, or pac vs algeiri rios etc, they've only been big draws in the UK when fighting hatton whilst the pac vs mayweather fight is big to us boxing fans, the casual probably won't be that bothered, and probably won't pay £20quid or stay up till 4am to watch it imo.
There absolutely will be a decent domestic show on the same night. Too much of an opportunity to miss up on.
I always gage that sort of thing on my mates who casually watch the sport and my fb feed has been full of people making plans for it Plus what you've got to remember its not like it's £20 each a lot of the time you watch it with 4 of you at least so it's only a fiver Few beers and a takeaway watchin the Boxin... Decent night
Now name all the other sporting events that BT have taken from Sky. BT Sport has got funds yes but this talk of BT can outbid Sky on anything they want is laughable.
You haven't got a clue. This fight transcends sport in a way few events do. It'll do the same, if not bigger, numbers than Froch - Groves II. Guaranteed.
BT paid way over the odds for the CL and their is no guarantee at all that will drive subscriptions to make it money well spent.
