I like GGG he is a talent and good for the sport, but Pavlik was just unreal at middle weight in his prime when he was focused. Before Pavlik was champ he would not be denied, he would have walked through bullets, I don't think GGG has the kind of toughness and will that Pavlik had when he was going for the top.

Miranda was the number one contender and the most feared puncher in the division at the time. HBO even did a feel-good piece about his life in anticipation of a Miranda/Taylor showdown that was featured right before he received a career changing beating from Pavlik.

Taylor was the undefeated champion until Pavlik rose from the canvas and delivered another career altering beating.

You can't use the weight drain excuse after the fact. Practically all fighters drain themselves to a certain extent to make weight. That's because they are looking for an advantage in fighting a smaller man. I could say that GGG beat a weight drained Murray.

Anybody with a brain knows Both Taylor and Miranda were badly weight drain. Hints as to why they both move up in weight after both losing to Pavlik.

GGG. He's the better all-round fighter imo. I never really rated Pavlik that highly even in his prime. I remember many people (probably mainly Americans) thought he would beat the likes of Calzaghe and Froch, I didn't agree. Both Pavlik and GGG are huge punchers though so either guy could stop the other at any moment.

You know if you had an once of logic, you could see that both fighters leaving the division after losing to the same man could just mean that they didn't want to face that man again.

Do you even follow this sport or watch the fights that you reference? Pavlik was already past prime and Martinez got a bit lucky with that cut because Kelly was starting to come on.

Taylor and Miranda were clearly prime when they faced Pavlik. If you can't see that, you really DKSAB.

Taylor and Miranda left the division because they got killed by Pavlik, not because of making weight issues.
