I like GGG he is a talent and good for the sport, but Pavlik was just unreal at middle weight in his prime when he was focused. Before Pavlik was champ he would not be denied, he would have walked through bullets, I don't think GGG has the kind of toughness and will that Pavlik had when he was going for the top.

HBO even did a feel-good piece about his life in anticipation of a Miranda/Taylor showdown that was featured right before he received a career changing beating from Pavlik. Taylor was the undefeated champion until Pavlik rose from the canvas and delivered another career altering beating. You can't use the weight drain excuse after the fact. Practically all fighters drain themselves to a certain extent to make weight. That's because they are looking for an advantage in fighting a smaller man. GGG. He's the better all-round fighter imo. I never really rated Pavlik that highly even in his prime. I remember many people (probably mainly Americans) thought he would beat the likes of Calzaghe and Froch, I didn't agree. Both Pavlik and GGG are huge punchers though so either guy could stop the other at any moment.
