I totally agree, especially after watching the after fight interview, his face was a pulp. He was taking some serious punishment and I don't doubt if the ref would have give him a standing count he would have at least tried to continue. Everyone else has avoided GGG like the plague, he has actively sought to fight him.

I really liked Murray before the fight, he is very humble and a decent bloke. My respect for him has never being higher after last night. The only sad thing for me is that he has been on the wrong end of some bad decisions and should have being champ a few times. I'm glad he has received 1 million collectively for his last few fights and has achieved his aim of securing his families future.

 

Tough *******, gritted his teeth and went out on his shield.

Obvious gulf in class between the two of them, but he showed a big set of ***** last night.

Completely agree big respect to Murray at least he threw bombs with intent unlike all the others. Too bad GGG is a different animal

I was very impressed. I have gained more respect for Murray.

 

I remember in the round where he got knocked down twice, you could tell by his face how much pain he was in and how devastating Golovkin's power was. But he got up and kept fighting, kept throwing punches. A big fan after last night!

 

Murray was a punchbag last night and it was a systematic pasting.

He is a survivor not a warrior

 

Did you even watch the fight? He threw and landed plenty of punches back, just didn't have the power to hold off Golovkin, who has a great chin amongst all his other great attributes.

 

That's not very fair, PP. It was the best challenge anyone put up to GGG. I've always been critical of the hype surrounding murray, but I must admit I was very impressed with his courage and toughness.
GGG is awesome...incredibly destructive and lasting 11 rounds HAS to command respect.

 

Never liked Murray but got to respect him after last night.

Haven't watched it back yet but there was one insane moment in maybe the eighth or ninth when Murray landed a few and pushed the maestro back and I thought... oh Christ, has Murray got this right, has GGG emptied the tank? Only lasted ten seconds but it felt glorious.

 

Murray knew pre fight what he was up against and even had a go at Macklin about his loss in an arrogant way.

If you talk the talk then don't impersonate a punchbag.
