Erm you do realise that like Roid Jackson also had a glass chin? All his defeats were by stoppage.

Golovkin doesn't seem to have, which is a big problem for Jones, as Golovkin can take away his speed with good timing ( see Mosley / Forrest ), and if he doesn't respect his power, he will hit that Waterford chrystal and it is goodnight nurse.

So GGG by KO in about 7 rounds.

 

So Tate was a decent fighter? There is reason to believe GGG is a good bit more than that. Jackson was KTFO by McCallum, McClellan, and Phillips, also TKO'd by Taylor , and Anthony Jones, are you saying all these guys hit harder than Jackson? I'd say it was more a case of Julian having a sh*t chin.

Are you saying that Tate's chin was better than GGG's?

James Toney and Bernard Hopkins as well as Mike McCallum

Toney has taken punches from Sam Peter, pretty sure hes taking them from Golovkin, if GGG can even land them.

GGG is one of my current favs but Toney is the wrong style for him.

 

To you: which of Golovkin's opponents are better than Jorge Fernando Castro (who Jones fought in his 17th fight)?

That's right. The answer is none. None of them.

But Jones beat many fighters better than Castro. So do you see why your question lacks the appropriate context?

 

I would not hesitate in picking Golovkin, especially if they had the SAME PED testing standards to abide by.

Fine. Then we have Hopkins, Toney, Mccullum and Tarver.

Just to repeat my previous point: neither of those guys had the style to deal with a prime Roy, and neither of them resembles GGG either.

Roy at his best had very impressive speed and footwork, which made him rangy. On top of it, those shots he delievered from the outside were heavy. Anyone trying to outbox him will fail. He must be cornered. Once the heat is on, he won't be able to stand up to it, and that's about his only weakness. Only a methodical and powerful pressure fighter could do it.

And Golovkin is one of the best pressure fighters I've seen. That's why I think it's possible he could take Roy out.
