Marquez is trying to diminish a Pacquaio win because Floyd made Marquez look horrible. He is basically saying, "it's not the Floyd I fought..."

Marquez points out that the key for a Pacquiao victory is to get inside and use his speed of combination.
Only problem with that thought is that Pacquiao is'nt a fighter who fights at close quarters.
Mayweather is much the superior fighter on the inside with his hooks and uppercuts. Great at using his shell defense there as well.

Pacquiao is in for a world of trouble here. Mayweather has the reach from distance, and he's a better infighter as well.

For such an anticipated matchup, this can get embarrasing for Pacquiao.

Marquez isn't saying Pacquiao has to fight at close quarters and use an inside game. He meant Pacquiao has to use his footwork and quick feet, lateral movement to get inside Mayweather's reach and land shots then get out consistently.

Nacho Beristain: Pacquiao Will Beat Mayweather

"Pacquiao will definitely win. Pacquiao is just too tough and too strong. Pressure and a lot of punches just beats Floyd up."

Yeah right, this guy does not know anything about boxing.

You got trolled if you believe that. :rofl

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iszkhzbZh6M "Who is the best fighter in the world?" Nacho: "Mayweather. And Bernard Hopkins."

So if he's the best fighter in the world, that means Pacquiao beats him?

Pacquiao is too strong? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJsFsmI6RME -- Nacho: "You can only beat Mayweather if you get in the ring with a bat. Yes, a baseball bat."

That would be the only time I've ever heard Nacho say he thought Pacquiao would win. But hey, people change their minds.

This doesn't really have relevance but I think explains what's going on to a t about this whole situation and understand this was in 2009:

You believe whatever you want to believe.
No more debates on style etc, we got a little over 2 months to once and for all answer who will win, Pac or Floyd.

After looking, the quote you're using is from 2011. Just FYI. That's a long time ago.

The video I showed was much more recent.

And you're right, Nacho isn't going to determine who wins. I have no doubt who wins May 2nd.

Pacquiao tried that against the slower footed Marquez in there 3rd fight, and most felt it was the clearest margin of victory for Marquez of the first 3 fights.

One thing is very clear to me, Mayweather is to quick not to make Pacquiao pay for coming in and trying to get out.

Get inside a reach? He's done this plenty of times, not just Marquez.

Also, I don't understand why people think Marquez won. Pacquiao was clearly more active, threw more punches, out-landed him, and landed at either a similar and higher connect percentage...

I guess it goes back to you can't outpoint Manny Pacquiao by boxing him. Too active. Judges will favor him, even though I felt it was still a clear victory for Manny. I mean... stats don't lie?

This is the dumbest comment in this thread , gratz , please reread what you wrote , put it in context of the fight and try and think if you still believe it.
The biggest fight of boxing history -> check.
Your biggest rival in boxing -> check.
Most viewers/ biggest hyped fight in recent years -> check.
Big risk of losing that zero -> check.
Biggest win of his carrer (FOTD went to PAC) -> check.

and you figured he goes , ah what the hell i dont care about this fight , might as well lose in front of EVERYONE , get twitter attacked by packroids , get the KO replay on TV every day for the next couple of weeks , and have it on the Inet for all eternity , ruin my legacy , void my claim to be TBE , and maybe hurt my health while im at it.

these kind of post makes me think some in this forum are just actually like that all talks with no substance or as Roger put it, does not know **** about boxing..

so tell me, how did Pac beat DLH? did he use his strength to bully DLH? push around the ring? if you've seen the fight, DLH was tagged by Pacquiao countless times but didn't even buckled! he was clearly still strong and not drained.. he was even fighting at 150 before that with no problem.. he was only defeated because he was clearly outboxed from the start..

He is right. Both fighters are clearly past it which should have them at a similar level though Pacquiao's level is definitely worse due to the KO loss, but still they're not far off each other in terms of being past it which makes this fight as great as it's hyped up to be.
