    GGG hits harder than Wlad.

Rumour is he got sacked from Valuev's camp for twice knocking the giant out in sparring, back in '08.

He took on the best at both super middle weight and light heavyweight for years with the exception of DM. He even stepped up and stole a strap away from heavyweight while being 33 year old and only weighing around 193 lbs. The hard punching Tarver was the first man to hand him a stoppage, and that was when Jones was 35 and coming off a bout where he was gaining and dropping a significant amount of weight in a relatively short time. I won't claim that his chin was "iron" per say.. But calling it "weak" based on his later stoppages or because he didn't face EVERY man who could crack that was alive is a short sided view.

To beat GGG at 160 pounds before father time catches up to him, or a fluke injury its going to take a lot.

The fighter will need an A plus chin, and will. Faster feet, a much longer jab, some power, smarts, and clinching / escape skills when in the corners or on the ropes. And the fighter will need to be very active on the punch stats.

Martin Murray would have been an average contender at best in Hagler's era, yet he took everything GGG dished out and was willing to fight on before that stoppage. He had no power and landed with moderate frequency. GGG has shown top skills and athleticism but hasn't beaten anyone of exceptional ability.

Yes, but the same guy might have given Hagler a bit more more. Hagler fought Duran, Leonard, and Hearns, but these guys were blown up fighters from lightweight to welter weight. Hagler lost to Leonard, and was nearly upset by Duran.

His next best opponents were Briscoe, who was clearly on the slide by 1978, ( Hagler took the 10 round decision ) Roldan ( a bit short for a middle ), Antuofermo ( Drew and TKO ) and Mugabi.

If we are talking natural middles, Hagler's resume is not that great, but better than GGG's for sure.

I hope GGG fights Cotto, Lee, Chavez jr, or Martinez next. I doubt Cotto risks it, but Lee, Chavez jr or Martinez might. Two wins here, and folks can't say he hasn't fought anyone at middle weight.

Little bit different when fighting three all time greats ;)

Vito and Mugabi are better than anyone GGG has thus far fought.

    Fair.

Martinez fighting any top middle weight at this point would be an execution. Beating him would be meaningless. Cotto at 34 and with only one fight at middle isn't much to look forward to and will likely never happen. The only guy in that division who belongs in there with him is Peter Quillin .

GGG hits harder than Wlad is the most insane thing I think I ever read here on this forum:nut. Klitchko outweighs him by about 80 lbs..

Rumours are are like a$$holes everyone has one, and their full of sh!t..

This GGG to me until he beats someone more capable than Murray is just an HBO hype machine, similar to what Kelly Pavlik, and Jermain Taylor were almost a decade ago..

So no credit to Jones for beating Ruiz, fearsome enough for Lewis to run away from to take on Vitaly instead?:yep

If you think Lewis's legacy stands and falls with the Ruiz challenge, you'd think you'd be very impressed with Jones for beating him, no?:D

I'd favor Jones and probably Toney over Golovkin. Between him and McClellan I just can't say.

But I think I'd favor Golovkin over any other MW of that time. It's hard to say when he hasn't been up against that kind of quality, though.

Jones would not have fought him, but if he was forced to, it would have been the end of his career. Stops Benn too. GGG beats Toney, Reggie Johnson and Steve Collins.

He would be blown away by McClellan, outpointed by Toney, Reggie and Kalambay, but I see him beating Jones, Collins, Parks, Julian and Hopkins, knocking them out or stopping them.

Jones would beat him by wide decision. Toney would beat him by decision and G-Man would knock him out. Everyone else he could beat!
