just like to add, I'm not chasing Failey Jones Junior either.

not until he turns 40soimething at any rate.

then I'll tell my son " don't worry hes not good anymore". even if I don't have a son, i'll have plenty of time to get one by then.

I don't have to read that link.

    We've already discussed Tiberi.

It was a bad day at the office, in the middle of a busy schedule. It happens. How many examples do you want?

But Toney was still classed as one of the best fighters in the world when he fought Roy.

I agree that Mike was past his best, but again, he was still an elite fighter. Look who'd he beaten just prior. He beat Kalambay who went on to beat Herol Graham etc.

Simply put, drawing with Mike McCallum in 1992 in an extremely close fight, does not mean that you aren't one of the best fighters in the world.

Toney did have a few struggles, and he's admitted that he lost to Tiberi. But it happens. He was only young and he was fighting every few months at that point. I've given you examples of it happening to other fighters. It was a bad day at the office. But that didn't cancel out all of his other wins. When he signed to fight Roy, he'd recently beaten Barkley, Littles and Williams etc after the Tiberi fight. He was considered by many people to have been one of the best fighters in the world back then.

    Here's the Ring's annual ratings for 1993.

They had him at number 3.

Toney beat Tiberi. I saw the fight live. I even posted the video for you all to see. Tiberi had his moments but he clearly lost. The crowd had a lot of influence on punches that landed and didn't land. Toneys punches landed cleaner. When you hear James Toney after the fight he's dead on.
