But I believe many people classed Toney as one of the top fighters in the world in 1994.

I attacked Calzaghe? Posting quotes from the man himself is now attacking him?

I'm obsessed? The only reason you post in this forum is to defend Calzaghe. This entire thread is about Calzaghe. All you guys do is trash the resumes of other smw's in an attempt to elevate Calzaghe's resume. You trash Toney for losing to Tiberi but would you trash Eubank for getting out-boxed by club fighter level Schommer or Reid for getting out-boxed by journeyman level Malinga? Of course not.

You criticize Jones for not fighting Collins but you never criticize Calzaghe for all of the times he looked the other way. He could of fought D.M, Pavlik or Dawson, but he chose to look the other way.

 

These threads (and the dozens of of others like it) generally reflect what the Calzaghe propagandizers see as an uphill struggle.

On the one hand, they see the film. Roy will always have the film, the evidence of the eyes -- people will always be mesmerized by his talent, speed, unbelievable athletic prowess and ability.

And then you have Calzaghe. Solid, but not mesmerizing. In 30 years, nobody will cue up the Calzaghe highlights. Nobody will slog through Hopkins-Calzaghe and if they do, they'll find it forgettable or wonder at how primitive past boxers appeared.

 

It's the same guys posting the exact same stuff and some of them have even admitted to getting hit with temp bans and yet they insist of doing the same thing. What I don't understand is why they don't just jump on the bandwagon of a active fighter, like Cleverly

I'm not a fan of Jones, but I have no problem admitting that he is the best fighter so far to fight in that division. Resume wise it will most likely be Ward after he has finished fighting in that division
