Valuev barely won (many thought the fight could've gone either way) against featherfisted past-prime cruizer Marcelo Dominguez (5'9'').

Valuev makes Carnera look like Larry Holmes

 

This would be a total freak show. David and Goliath for real.

Absolutely Marciano/ Much more skilled, Valuev did not have the jab to keep him away, no fear.

Though what are the biggest reasons Valuev did so WELL overall?
It must not just be his size...As noted, he did not use it that effectively.
And his power was not that impressive for a HW, let alone for his size.

how much is it the competition? How much simple FEAR of such a large man with such a scary visage?

 

Yeah what's funny is haye could barely win the fight against sugar nicky and marciano could knock Snv out, tells you how overated the toe maker is.

 

It's like a chainsaw versus a tree.

 

I think it's probably a valid question because of the size difference, but I would be disappointed if Rocky could not bash his way to a decision,strangely enough I don't see him stopping the giant.

 

I don't see that Marciano had any more skills than Valuev TBH.

 

If marciano sticks to Valuev's body like flies on horse ****, then he probably takes a decision solely on being the more active of the two. But he'd have to work his ass off and Nikolay would dwarf him. I don't see a stoppage here.

 

C'mon, Rocky had an effective crouching, counter-punching, pressuring style & was not that easy to hit, as Ali noted. He had great power & punches with both hands. He could set up shots & draw fire well. What skills of note did Valuev have? Mainlly he was enormous & could take a punch.

 

Marciano on points....

 

Marciano would bust him up bad. Bigger boxers are made to order for Marciano. Marciano hits hard enough and often enough that it does not really matter how big you are. Its better to be nimble and roll with the punches and avoid punishment against the Rock.
