Will Mr.Floyd Mayweather, Jr reach top 10 ATG after this win?

    Many ****ysts/experts/boxing aficionados rate Floyd as a top 15-20 ATG fighter of all time

    In their last poll of top ATG's in the last 50 or so years, they have Floyd @ 12, best of this era by far. Pac was not in even on the list.

    The question remains: Will Floyd Mayweather, Jr reach top 10 ATG as soon as he finishes wiping the floor with Emmanuel Dapedran Pacquiao. Discuss.

    If Floud puts a 118-110 schooling on Pac he's at a very high level of ATGness. Maybe top 10.

    easy work for pac. I don't even worry about it. Floyd looked awful against Madaina. I think this is a really bad style match for him and he knows it.

    Beating Pacquiao, a stylistic problem for Floyd, elevates him quite a bit in my book. Floyd's competition has been legitimately sub par in the twilight of his career. Top 15 I think. Pac would be rated much higher if he never fought Marquez or Cortez had waved off their first fight in the first round, and if Floyd beats him he deserves credit, but would have deserved more in 2009.

    No, but the winner's standing will be enhanced out of keeping with the significance (sporting) of the fight. Inevitably, it is this fight, not what has gone before, which will denote who the best fighter between Jones and the flyweight who comes out on top out of Gonzalez, Inoue and one or two others.

    That's a lot of time and being clear #1 for that period in history denotes a much higher standing than they currently enjoy in sharing it between themselves.
