I agree with you to some extent. I want to see froch carrying on fighting but I have no interest in him picking a boring meaningless payday. If he doesn't want the challenging exciting fights anymore then fair enough I don't blame him. He should therefore retire.

I don't think you can say he ran from Groves though. He did a bloody terrible job if that was ever the case!!

I also think a GGG v Froch fight would be terrific. I think Froch would really stand a good chance. If he doesn't do that then he should try and avenge the Ward defeat. Because surely that is what someone which Carl's determination and obsession with legacy should do. He would get respect for trying to avenge that rather than fight a pointless payday.

Totally agree mercury. Just feel you cant have it everyway you want. If he is a warrior he goes for the big challenges and if he's not...he goes for the retirement fund. Couldnt imagine your morales/barrerras not wanting to take these kind of challenges on...now thats a warrior in my book. Would have no problem froch fighting on with whoever he wants...but call it how it is. I honestly think the golvokin fight is a winable one for him at this point of time and i dont really like frochs style. He should take it imo. I genuinely belireve groves had him shook especially the first fight to the point he didnt want to take it because he thought he would lose. As robert mckracken said after the first fight they knew he was a nitemare for froch.

Why would Froch not take the biggest money fight available to him right now? To please the hardcore fans that always whine and are never happy anyway?

Personally feel hes built a career making out he ll take on all challenges. Fearless warrior. And yet when ward beat him. Carl said he ll never beat him and never chased a rematch and frochs fans accepted it because carl said it. Even tho there actually wasnt that a massive gulf in class between them. Then the groves situation he tried to run from the rematch doesnt matter what people say. Groves forced that rematch. Then trying to sell the kessler 3 fight...as if kessler was still the same man he once was. I understand you ve got to promote yourself but it just feels a bit like amir khan at times where they try to pull the wool over the publics eyes. Chavez fights the fight most people are chasing. But lets not kid ourselves on loads of options for carl. And the truth is based on the last groves fight carl froch hasnt actually slipped much. He was always like that. It seems because if your a fan of carls he just twists things the way he wants and his fans agree without question. Fair play to carl tho hes had a great career. And made me eat my words a good few times anyway.

Also they all go for the fight that can make the most money especially won with smaller risk. But when its not there go for something else. No ones really interested in the fight. Hes a multi millionaire. And would be paid millions to fight degale/ward or golvokin. I wouldnt encourage the retirement fund personally.

It's often said Carl didn't chase a rematch but didn't they try to get Ward over here at one point? Was it after Kessler II that Froch was badgering Ward after the fight at ringside?

You could be right hit and hope. he did kind of just give up on it for a long time tho. i honestly think a fight at home against ward would have been a winnable fight for him. Still would fancy ward. But the difference in the first fight wasnt enough imo to completely write the rematch off. which was carls line for a long time after the first fight.

I think carl is a warrior inside the ring to be honest but outside of it...he clearly isnt. in much the same way calzaghe wasnt. He says its about money or always wanting to have the big fight at vegas or something else when the truth is he doesnt fancy the challenge.

Unless its against a style that suits him. You had ricky hatton going in against mayweather, tyszu and pacquoiu and yet carl froch is the warrior taking on all comers and hatton ends up a bum that ducked witter. wierd how it works out. Neither calzaghe or froch fought anyone on that level i include ward and hopkins in that. As good as hopkins was he was more tricky than anything else at that point much the same as ward. whereas the three of them could actually punch and seriuosly hurt you i include mayweather in that. I say hatton would have been up for a golvokin fight if he was the weight class below him coming up. That to mes a warrior. But froch saying he takes on all comers then giving up his belt to avoid degale. avoiding ward golvokin etc to fight chavez junior isnt imo.

*******s mate. Go back and watch the first couple of rounds against nigel benn...anyone capable of that against benn is no hype job. I dont think i ve seen many accuse mcllellan of being a hype job over the years. Geralds biggest draw back was the weight draining. was always going to catch up with him in the end. He had 19 1st round ko's, 5 2nd round ko's and 3 3rd round ko's in 34 fights. 29 ko's in 31 wins. Ko's including john mugabe and julian jackson in the first round and pretty much should have been nigel benn as well. Any one that does that is no hype job.

Plus i dont think many that came through from the kronk gym had no ring iq tbh.

At the end of the day it's all about opinions mate. But a bit surprised you ve accused me of talking *******s then in the next post call gerald mcclellan a hype job with no ring iq.

Name me one person on his cv that was world class apart from Benn?

The IQ comment was said because he had the tools to box Benn but decided to go to war. A decision which lost him the fight
