I would love to see Callum Smith who is out injured fight Rebrasse next when he is fit, obviously Rebrasse has already turned fight down once as has Love, but his last fight was the right fight, i would say someone of Rebrasse, Gonazalas, Love level is where he should fight next unless Groves or Abraham fancied it as even though they are top 10 SMWs there styles are made for Callum Smith
Really not convinced about C Smith at all. Just cant see the hype. He seems a down to earth guy that you can wish the best for but I dont see anything special at all. I think Degale would easily dominate and win. I dont think C Smith would beat Abraham either. I think this is a weak era at SMW.
Don't think we've seen the best of smith yet by a long shot, I may be wrong but I just think he still has a few gears to move up when he's really tested. He's got a great trainer in gallagher who seems convinced his man has what it takes to reach the top.
Degale would tie him in knots and stop him in the latter rounds. Callum Smith has looked very good so far but Degale is on a different level.
Does anyone know why Callum Smith hasn't had a fight in months and nothing scheduled? I think he's found his level for the time being with top 30 sort of guys and should be out more regularly.
+ 1.:good DeGale does this to everyone in the division bar a couple of guys. He's 'in the window' now and.......'injury free!!!'....ha ha, no disrespect to C.Smith but he and most other SMWs would do well to steer clear of DeGale for the next few years.
They're talking about Callum like they were talking about Dave Price, but they'll learn from that mistake. They were also saying George Groves was a worldbeater after he suffered a LOSS. As said, perspective is needed. He's not in a great division, but theres a few men way above him at the top of it. One of them is Degale, another is his next opponent Andre Dirrell. I also think the young Mexican kid is better than Callum, and he's a bit younger. But yes,he very well could be a contender in a couple of years if they keep him active and step him up right.
Smith looks fantastic when he's up close and able to tee off on people (especially to the body). But when there's distance and he's got something coming back, he looks a bit clueless and stiff. Reminds me of Enzo Mac.
I rate Callum. I think he has the potential to be a top contender. However it's far too early to even be thinking about matching him up with the likes of DeGale.
Degale alll day long quite possibly by stoppage callum is being way over hyped and will get found out when he steps up.
Give it a rest mate. Well done you, you were right! Do you want a pat on the back? Maybe a gold star ?
