Gets kinda overlooked/underplayed these days when division hopping is so rampant and people are picking up titles left and right, dropping them, ect. But to me I have always liked the idea of ruling a weight class with an iron fist, and not always obviously but one way is to look at title defenses. And I just like seeing them anyways lol. Something prestigious to me about having a long reign.

Ill start a list just going off of who enters my head first of current fighters, and Ill keep adding names you guys list... Im just curious to see what the list would look like.

    Hopkins - 20
    Chris John - 18
    Wlad Klitschko - 17 *Current
    Golovkin - 13 *Current
    Andre Ward - 5 *Current

Write em down and Ill add them to the list where they fit in :good

Golovkin's title defences is 7 or 8 in truth. Sturm (the WBA super champion) was ducking him for a while and gave up the belt after unifying with Geale I think. Golovkin was only the "Regular" and "Interim" champion before.

although he didn't do it in 1 division, Mayweather has currently won 24 consecutive title fights, way more than anyone currently in boxing and only 2 removed from Joe Louis' all-time record...

Floyd's title defenses are far more impressive than Louis' considering Louis' opposition is the one of the worst eras of heavyweight boxing. A fighter like Johnny Davis couldn't even get into the ring with Floyd as a sparring partner.

Conversely..... Louis ducked no one. Floyd is one of the greatest duckers in boxing history

There was no one to duck. Louis' opponents were all garbage.

Calzaghe won that belt in 97, back then that belt was irrelevant.

Michalczewski won 14 on the spin via stoppage I think.

Be cool if Golovkin could break B-Hop's record winning all of his fights via stoppage.
