    bolded and underlined..

thats some statement, when you´ve forgot to mention the clinch game. This is not a personal attack, but it really is quite laughable to yell from the roof tops "i know it all" and forget the one area where floyd is probably one of the best - if not the best - in the world.

if i was in charge of floyds tactics, i´d be trying to counter pac, the second he is inside, clinch and use superioer size, strength and technique to beat pac up.

against maidana fx, floyd only had superior technique inside, he didnt have a strength or a size advantage, against pac he will hold all the advantages there.

the clinch game is actually the reason i have floyd as a slight favorite, but your post was good anyways, so i´d like it,. if you´d share your view on the "phone booth" :good

Only on ESB is a top 10 p4p fighter referred to as "overated" with "zero power" and "c class".

If Floyd tries the clinch game in this fight, he will get booed out of the arena. Manny isn't going to be there to be clinched. Floyd needs to spend less time on his right side, period. This is the perfect fight for him to utilize lots of jabs, left hooks, and left uppercuts with momentum shifting to his left side. Pac likes to attack in a straight line and is best at it when he has a second to set himself and then he springs forward with a combination. He gets sloppy and off balance at times when he is forced to chase or deviate from this straight line of attacking. As an example, there were plenty of opportunities to counter him in the Algieri fight but Chris was too busy running and couldn't readjust himself to land shots when Manny was out of his comfort zone of striking in a straight line. Manny simply does not circle his opponents to the right side in any kind of traditional way, and Floyd should take advantage of that. For instance, Manny isn't going to attack Floyd in a half circle motion from the right side with any kind of attack for the most part. He likes that straight line drive where his opponent is right in front of him. Floyd likes to throw that lead right hand and let his momentum carry him to the right. This is a mistake--especially against a southpaw. If Floyd throws that shot, he needs to end up on his left side. Another thing, Manny isn't some kind of defensive juggernaut. When his opponent attacks him, they typically have success. Manny's defense largely consists of him putting his gloves up and waiting it out. He's not great at slipping punches or adjusting his body to avoid punches. A perfect opportunity for Floyd to be first and stagnate what Manny wants to do."

dont be surprise if floyd utilize his clinch game in this fight, two major reasons, 1 to create distance between him and pac, every time pac gets to his range floyd will initiate clinch as soon as he can, then force the ref to separate them, 2. he has a far better in fighting capabilities then pac. :good

I am not sure clinching will be an issue in this fight. Pac is a mid-range fighter not an insight fighter.

Of course it does work against southpaws. Watch Toney fight southpaws like Nunn, Jirov, Reggie Johnson.

Granted that Floyd is less versatile than Toney was.

i dont get the point of this thread, Floyd doesnt use the philly shell against southpaws so all the comparisons to Toney and other arguements are pointless

Floyds left hook and uppercut will cause havoc on fight night.

High guard, left hook, uppercut and lead right. I wouldn't be suprised if Manny is knocked down early from being off balance with a right hand. Like rounds 1 or 2.

Well it's a good job Floyd doesn't use the philly shell against fast, powerpunching southpaw's. :-:)rofl

The fight is between Pacquiao and Mayweather, the Roach won't be in the ring. Mayweather and Pacquiao will have their game plans coming in, but it's what adjustments will you make when your original gameplan is not working. Advantage Mayweather.

A Roach cannot beat Mayweather and Freddie ****roach is one of Pacmans biggest weaknesses in this fight. Roach is taking it personal, he is not cool, calm and collected. Floyd is going to do a number on Pacman on the outside, the inside and at mid range. Pacman actually thinks Mayweather is afraid of him which is a key mistake. Floyd has beaten better fighters than Pacquiao.

I remember Floyd using the shell on southpaw Ortiz and he couldn't hit him clean.
