Most relaxed atmosphere was the craven park open air fight for Campbell's debut, felt more like a music festival than a boxing event. Really enjoyed it
Re froch groves one - groves flooring froch and the bit in the 6th massively got the crowd up, Deffo the best I've seen, but do fancy Belfast to see frampton in the flesh
Froch vs Bute was excellent but it wasn't a patch on Burns vs Martinez at the Kelvin Hall- tremendous.
Yeh , no one had a clue what had happened when he was dropped, there was like a moments silence while it registered. And at the end - wow that went on for sometime , all the cheering for groves you couldn't actually hear the post fight ringside interviews. Another cracking atmosphere I've seen but on a small hall show was Singleton vs Woodhouse at Bowlers Manchester - singletons lot are notoriously loud but that night they were barmy - even woodhouse admitted it was something new to him in boxing.
Went to a fight night in Aust once ,, hardly anyone inside watching the fights , most of the crowd got there late , went outside at intervil and stood round passing joints around for the rest of the night , a stouch was gonna start up because , some dood was happy to accept joints being passed to him , but did'nt want to share his own , but everyone was stoned , and calmed it down , and they made up by sharing an eccy.. I think it was a good night can't remember much of it .
I've only been to a handful of fights and I was at Calzaghe v Kessler. I was outer ringside for that one - so I had good seats (I paid £330) and there was a huge crowd! 50,000 plus still... for me Froch v Bute ****ed all over it! I think it was just the case that froch had been on the road for so long and he had now lost his title and had managed to lure an undefeated champion to his back yard. It really felt like a last throw of the dice at that stage of his career The crowd just got behind him sooo much. It was ridiculous! I think someone said it best earlier on in this thread It was a bear pit!!!!!
Yeah Froch v Bute was pretty special. man for man was the best I've done, Froch v Groves 2 was pretty special too just the enormaty of it but the Bute fight was something else. Think it helped about 300-400 Bute fans all being in the same block. Was like a football atmosphere with the away fans all together.
The atmosphere for the Joshua fight on the Burns vs Crawford card was amazing but then they killed it by putting a little 4 round fight between that and the Burns fight.
the atmosphere for arthur v gomez at medowbank in edinburgh was amazing must have only been 3000 but felt like 30,000..
If Josh Warington keeps doing what he's doing, his already excellent following will cause some mad nights
